Description

A newly excavated live album of the highly acclaimed concert “The Three Greatest Performances of 1999” is now available. All three of these great performances are from Japan. From this tour, professional shots of television broadcasts are known as a major standard, but there were performances with a level of tension and perfection that far surpassed them. When was this great performance? First, let’s look at the dates of the Japan tour. May 23: Tokyo Bay NK Hall May 25: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall “BLAST FROM THE EAST” May 26: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall May 28: Fukuoka Civic Hall May 29: ZEPP OSAKA “ZEPP OSAKA 1999” May 30: Osaka Festival Hall May 31: Tokyo International Forum June 2: Tokyo International Forum ★ Television Broadcast June 3: Tokyo International Forum [This work] All 9 performances. All of these have been recorded, but the “three great performances” are “May 25th”, “May 29th”, and “June 3rd”. This work is an audience album that includes the “June 3rd: Tokyo International Forum performance”. As you can see above, our shop has commercialized the remaining two days of the great performance as “BLAST FROM THE EAST” and “ZEPP OSAKA 1999”. This work is the last live album. This work, which contains such a great performance, is a truly wonderful audience sound. In fact, it does not reach the two great masterpieces “BLAST FROM THE EAST” and “ZEPP OSAKA 1999”, but it was made into a CD directly from the actual DAT master handed over directly from a famous recording artist in the Kanto region. Although it gives a sense of space, the core of the thick musical sound is comparable to a line recording, and the acoustics of the International Forum add beauty to the sound. Of course, not only the guitar but all the notes of all the instruments are clear, the deep bass of the thundering synth is heard shaking the floor, and the sharp drum sound is vivid as if it explodes. Compared to the two great masterpieces, the fineness of the details and the sense of transparency are one step back, but instead it is a masterpiece that gives a strong “mood”. The reason why the “mood” is particularly felt is because the performance itself is tremendous. Although the sound quality is inferior to the other two performances “May 25th” and “May 29th”, Jeff’s own enthusiasm and the sharpness of the phrases are completely equal. On the day before the TV broadcast, Jeff’s enthusiasm for filming was running out of steam and mistakes were noticeable, but this work is like a different person. Rather, it is sharp as if he was blowing away the bad mood of the day before, and the band members also bite into such Jeff (Ah, if I could put this phrase into words …). Even though there are nine performances, it is a great performance among the great performances that it is said that “these three performances are different”. And it’s a sound that is so vivid that it can be felt. To repeat, this work is not an intense and super clear sound like “BLAST FROM THE EAST” and “ZEPP OSAKA 1999”. Rather, it is an audience recording that seems like an audience recording. However, that’s why it’s real. It’s a work that makes your heart warm with a performance that seems out of this world while being surrounded by a “sense of being there” as if you were there. If you only know the TV broadcast, please listen to “BLAST FROM THE EAST” and “ZEPP OSAKA 1999” first. If you’ve been blown away by the “1999 JEFF BECK GROUP” with those two super-famous albums, then this work is your turn. This is the original master sound of this work, which we would like such enthusiasts to listen to.
