Description

From the US tour with the Jan Hammer Group after the release of “Wired” in 1976, a coupling recording of the early June live show and the final day of the tour. First of all, Disc: 1 includes a live performance at Parade Stadium in Minneapolis on June 26th, which is the first 7th performance of the 1976 long-term tour, on an official quality sound board. It uses a new excavated master that was re-aired on the radio that was leaked on the internet in recent years, and is a must-listen material as one of the few board sound sources on this tour. Although it is not complete because it is a broadcast sound source, Beck appears from the opening performance by the Jan Hammer Group, and the main number after that is firmly recorded. Unfortunately, the final songs “Blue Wind” and “.Led Boots” are not included, but the delicate and exquisite tone balance of “Diamond Dust” and the intense battle development of “Full Moon Boogie”, etc., are of this quality. I’m so happy to be able to listen to it. Discs 2 & 3 include a complete master quality audience recording of the final performance of the “Wired” US tour on December 8th of the same year in New Orleans, LA. It’s a pretty good sound source as an audience source in 1976, and since it’s a long-term tour, the band’s cohesiveness is the best. In particular, the band, led by Jan Hammer, was in great spirits, and played with such passion that it would be hard to imagine that they would part ways after some troubles later in life. Beck is also fully aggressive in his playing, and although there are quite a few mistakes in tone, he enjoys the fusion-rock approach unique to this period, such as “Scatterbrain,” which is rougher than the studio version, and “Blue Wind,” which includes “Train Kept.” A total of 85 minutes. Also, there are quite a few changes in the arrangements and ensembles in these two performances, so be sure to check that out as well, as this is a must-have item for the 1976 tour.
