Description

In 1996, Jackson Browne embarked on the biggest tour of his career with the release of “LOOKING EAST,” which returned to social themes. A live album that allows you to experience the scene at its best is now available. This work includes “July 19, 1996 Udine Performance (Italy)”. It is a transcendental audience recording. Speaking of 1996, it is a memorable place because the performance in Japan was realized. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the overall picture of the world tour. [“LOOKING EAST” released on February 13th]・February 11th-April 4th: North America #1 (37 performances)・April 15th-26th: Japan/Hawaii (7 performances)・June 15th : South Africa performance ・June 18th – July 23rd: Europe #1 (25 performances) ←★Here★ ・August 3rd – October 19th: North America #2 (33 performances) ・November 4th – 22nd Sun: Europe #2 (12 performances) December 5th-11th: Australia (3 performances) This is Jackson Browne in 1996. They performed approximately 120 performances and carried out a large-scale tour that not only toured North America and Europe twice, but also traveled to South Africa and Australia. In fact, even in a solo career spanning over 50 years, 1996 was the only year in which he had a triple-digit number of live performances in one year. The taste of Europe was different between the first and second tour, with “Europe #1” being an electric band style tour and “Europe #2″ being a solo acoustic tour. Among them, the Udine performance of this work was the 22nd concert of “Europe #1”. This work recorded at such a show is a superb audience recording that was recently discovered. Either way, the powerful core and delicate details will blow your mind. Immediately after the playback, you can hear the vivid sound of applause, so you won’t mistake it for a soundboard, but once the performance starts, you’ll be mistaken. Even if I listen carefully with headphones, I can’t hear the sound of the hall, and I have no sense of distance. If you listen to it microscopically, the snare tone seems a little audience-like, but it’s not sparse and has plenty of density. When each song is finished, applause erupts like the sound of rain, and you come to your senses and think, “Oh, now that I think about it, it was a guest record.” It’s a masterpiece recording with such a level of closeness. The sharp outline further emphasizes the direct feel. There is no sharpness that pierces the ears, and the sound is beautifully drawn from the beginning of the first note to the moment when it disappears. This is probably due to master freshness. This work has been digitized from the 1st Janet Master, and there are almost no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. It’s as beautiful as if it was recorded yesterday. And, due to this subtlety, the band and ensemble are neatly separated, and even when they overlap, they do not mix. The chorus work is also at the level of each person’s breathing. And what is depicted with such beautiful sounds is a treasure trove of masterpieces that sum up a career spanning 25 years. Let’s organize the set here. 70’s (11 songs)・SATURATE BEFORE USING: Something Fine/Rock Me On The Water/Doctor, My Eyes・FOR EVERYMAN: For Everyman・LATE FOR THE SKY: Fountain of Sorrow/Late for the Sky・THE PRETENDER: Your Bright Baby Blues/The Pretender・RUNNING ON EMPTY: Running on Empty/The Load-Out/Stay 80’s (2 songs)・LAWYERS IN LOVE: Lawyers in Love・LIVES IN THE BALANCE: In the Shape of a Heart 90’s (8 song)・I’M ALIVE: I’m Alive/Everywhere I Go・LOOKING EAST: Some Bridges/The Barricades of Heaven/I’m the Cat/Culver Moon/Looking East/Alive in the World …and like this It has become. Although there are no songs from the multi-platinum hit “HOLD OUT”, there is a wide range of famous songs from each era. The latest work “LOOKING EAST” number which is the axis is delicious, but especially the places such as “I’m the Cat”, “Culver Moon” and “Alive in the World” are very valuable. Also, although it is not a new song, the last song “Lawyers in Love” is a rare song. In any case, it is a group of masterpieces of all time, written with exquisite sounds that are outside of the audience’s common sense, and deep performances. That’s all. Good sound, good songs, and good performance…the three elements of a great piece of music coexist in the ultimate dimension, making this a masterpiece of a live album that will make you forget the time just by immersing yourself in it.
