From the official unreleased live performance of alto master Jackie MacLean, recorded on July 3, 1989 at the University of Quebec in Montreal in Montreal with the finest stereo soundboard sound source. With South African pianist Hotep Idris Galeta in the background, Nat Reeves on bass, and Tony Reedus on drums, there is a sense of tension with Hotep Idris Galeta’s excellent performance and a perfect MacLean explosion with one horn. It’s a great performance. You can enjoy the unique live performance of the alto master, who performed with bop masters Charlie Parker and Bud Powell at a young age.
