Description
After leaving Miles Davis’ band, Jack DeJohnette, who had participated in many sessions mainly on emerging labels such as CTI and ECM, formed the group (New) Directions in order to showcase his own unique sound. New Directions released an album on ECM in 1978, but the Directions without the new members did not release an album at the time. This is a super rare and extremely rare item that has been recorded for over an hour at the New York Public Theater on March 18, 1978 by the legendary “Directions”, which consisted of the four members of New Directions, DeJohnette on drums and piano, John Abercrombie on guitar, Eddie Gomez on bass, and Lester Bowie on trumpet, plus Arthur Blythe on sax and Peter Warren on cello!
