Description
BBM is a bubble unit formed by the rhythm section of the legendary band CREAM and Gary Moore. Their multi-camera pro shots are to be released. This work was shot at the “Cologne performance on November 2, 1993”. It is a multi-camera pro shot taken at the anniversary concert celebrating Jack Bruce’s 50th birthday. BBM is a phantom project that disappeared into the darkness of history with only the album “AROUND THE NEXT DREAM” and a European tour of only 13 shows. However, this work was released shortly before the official launch. It is a good opportunity to review the band’s history, which is short but somewhat complicated. First, let’s summarize the schedule at that time from Jack’s perspective. 1993 January 12: Appeared at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony at CREAM February 23rd “SOMETHIN ELS” released March 21st-27th: North America (6 shows) March 30th-April 5th: Europe #1 (3 shows) June 28th-August 14th: Europe #2a (10 shows) * August 15th: Esslingen show (Moore/Husband participated) August 17th + September 4th: Europe #2b (2 shows * November 2nd + 3rd: Europe #3 (2 shows) ←★Here★ “BBM formed” 1994 May 17th “AROUND THE NEXT *May 19th – July 3rd: Europe #4 (13 shows) *BBM Dismantled *Note: * indicates Jack Bruce’s solo shows and CREAM’s reunion performances. * indicates Jack and Gary Moore’s joint performances. This is Jack Bruce in 1993/1994. CREAM was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in January 1993, but the reunion was a one-off event. Jack had already completed his solo album SOMETHING They released “Els” and set off on tour. However, during the European tour, guitarist Bruce Saraceno left the band. Gary Moore was called in to replace him, and this was the reunion of the two greats (the only performance that is clearly confirmed to be a joint performance is the Esslingen performance, but there were also shows before and after that, so there may have been several other performances). Gary had known Jack for a long time from their session work in the 1980s, but through this work they became even more acquainted, and the two began to work towards forming a unit to perform together. At this time, Gary was eager to have Ginger Baker join Jack, but it was well known that Jack and Ginger did not get along well. Nevertheless, Gary, who grew up admiring CREAM, could not give up and pleaded, “at all costs.” As a result, Ginger was invited to Jack’s 50th anniversary concert (Europe #3). This was the catalyst for the birth of the super unit BBM. This “Europe #3” was released as part of Jack’s official live album “CITIES OF THE HEART”, but this work is “November 2nd” out of the two days. In other words, this work is the first stage where the legendary three people gathered (Pete Brown also participated as a guest in “Politician”). It is a pro shot at a time when it is BBM but not called BBM. It is a video that has been known as a standard since the time of TV broadcast pro shots, and this work was made into a DVD from the best master. Since it is an analog image quality of the era, it cannot be advertised as “completely official class!” at the present time of digital standard, but it is a superb master who wants to scream with all his might at that time. And the important thing is the content of the performance. BBM itself was rich in CREAM color, but this work before the official start is even richer. It contains four CREAM numbers, and all of them have an exquisite interplay. A quarter century after CREAM, the guitar hero who climbed to the top aiming for legend and the real rhythm section compete against each other. This work is firmly captured by the video technology of the 90s. Perhaps it was because they felt a sense of accomplishment from this show that they developed into BBM, but that interplay is understandable. Moreover, the footage shows how passionate the performance is. Gary is so expressive that he is often said to “play with his face,” but on this day he looked happier than ever. He made his name known around the world with his own efforts, but in front of the legendary rhythm section, he was completely exposed as a fan. After that, they officially started, as mentioned above, and performed the album “AROUND THE NEXT DREAM” and a European tour. However, Ginger had his own band, and his relationship with Jack was still difficult to repair. The tour was also canceled one after another. As a result, the gigs that were realized were only 13 of the scheduled 23 performances, and the band naturally disappeared. BBM embodied “CREAM of the 90s” with the heroes of British rock history gathered together. It was a rare unit that was able to create the best music with a luxurious lineup because of its clear vision. This is a valuable video work that allows you to witness that evening with multi-camera professional shots. Live at E-Werk, Koln, Germany 2nd November 1993 PRO-SHOT (30:36) 1. N.S.U. 2.
