Description
This is the pinnacle experience of the music genre “HEAVY METAL”! The ultimate tour live album featuring JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN at their peak is here! In the history of metal, filled with heroes, there have been various coupling performances and confrontation live shows. However, there is no other combination as powerful as this one. After all, the main characters are PRIEST and MAIDEN, the two great heroes who symbolize metal, and the time is 1982. Yes, it is a live album where the two heroes from the “Scream of Vengeance” era and the “Mark of Magic” era face off against each other. What is engraved in this work is “Chicago performance on September 21, 1982”. It is that transcendental audience recording. Before the coronavirus outbreak, it was in the news that Rob Halford said, “I want to tour with MAIDEN,” and Steve Harris responded, “That’s a good idea,” but in reality, the two actors were planning a joint tour. I did it again. That was from 1980 to 1982, when up-and-coming IRON MAIDEN served as the opening act for JUDAS PRIEST, which was already a mid-tier band. This is a good opportunity, so let’s check the show’s position from the history of the co-starring tour. BRITISH STEEL TOUR 1980, March 7th – April 1st: UK (21 performances) WORLD WIDE BLITZ / KILLERS TOUR 1981, June 3rd – 14th: North America (12 performances), June 27th – July 30th Sun: North America (25 performances) WORLD VENGEANCE TOUR / BEAST ON THE ROAD 1982 September 14th – October 23rd: North America (30 performances) ←★Click here★ [“HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” which recorded the miracle tour ”] This is the tour schedule where both men lined up. We did meet up at festivals after that, but this was our only joint tour together. There are subtle differences in the records of both bands, so the exact number of performances is not exact, but I think you can get an idea of the approximate scale. At that time, neither of them seemed to sell their couplings, but for Priest, they were just an “opening band.” In 1982, Maiden was also a headliner in Europe, but they were barely an opening act in North America. The Chicago performance of this work is one act of such a 1982 North American tour. This was the 6th concert of the coupling schedule. This work recorded at such a show is the best audience recording with “super”. As some of you may have already noticed, this work is part of the super-excellent series “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” that is currently a hot topic. The other day, I introduced Maiden’s version on the Shades label, and the same person also recorded the main act’s Priest version. Moreover, the Priest edition is not the first appearance. A few years ago, many of you may remember “DEFINITIVE VENGEANCE”, which shocked people with its super-high quality, but in fact, that super famous recording was also “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION”! Of course, this work is not just a tie-in recurrence. This is a work that has been re-polished from the original master on the premise that it will be a coupling work. Even though it was recorded on the same day, there was a difference of several years in the digital transfer, so that feeling of incongruity was completely eliminated. On top of that, we improved the clarity, completely adjusted the pitch, and corrected the (very slight) stereo distortion. In “DEFINITIVE VENGEANCE”, the missing recording of “Hell Bent For Leather” was supplemented with the official soundboard of another performance, but this time, the theme is “a night of two major bands,” so we will not supplement it, but instead use the valuable record. We have created a live album that stands out only with the truth. [A transcendent live album that blows away the official sound board] If you don’t know about the previous release or “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION”, the explanation might be a little “?”. For those who are experiencing this for the first time…”This is amazing!” To put it bluntly, it’s like a soundboard. If the core is extremely thick, the feel will be intense and the details will be super fine. Anyway, even if you listen carefully with headphones, there is no sense of distance (at all), and there is no close call and response, just a huge spectacle with a balance like an official live album. Moreover, the sound board feeling is further enhanced by original mastering that improves the clarity from the original sound on the internet. “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” is a series of audience recordings, so you can tell that it is a guest record, but just by listening to this work, you won’t think so. I wrote earlier that “DEFINITIVE VENGEANCE was supplemented with the official soundboard of another performance,” but it is a transcendent direct recording that makes it possible. And what is depicted with that sound is the clash between the two men who have reached their peak… There is no way this could be a bad thing. The potential of the band that created “Scream of Revenge” and “Mark of Magic”, which embody the ideals of heavy metal, explodes in this passionate performance as they try to avoid being consumed by each other. Both Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson sing like never before, and the ensemble is impregnable as well. The twins of both bands are decided with a bang, and Steve Harris’s bucking gallop is also amazingly powerful. Speaking of 1982, there are official works such as “LIVE VENGEANCE ’82” for Priest and “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” for Maiden, but this work is so intense that it surpasses either of them. Not only in metal but also in rock, rivalry brings out more charm than it should, and this work is the ideal form of that. “JUDAS PRIEST vs IRON MAIDEN” is a live album that truly explodes with the wonder of coupling, and embodies the dreams of metal artists. As mentioned above, this coupling actually existed for nearly 90 performances, but until now it was difficult to enjoy it on recording. Many tapers only record the band they are looking for, and even if they do record both in rare cases, the quality is poor… Under such circumstances, this work is the only live album that allows you to enjoy both of them at their finest.
