Description

The strongest and largest collection of professional shots from the Blaze Bayley era is here. Blaze was in IRON MAIDEN for five years from 1994 to 1998. With two studio albums and two world tours, he is comparable to Paul Di’Anno in both years and number of albums. This work is a four-disc set that sweeps up the full professional shots left over from those five years with the best masters. Only Blaze, who does not have an official live album, has unearthed numerous soundboard albums and professional shots. However, there are not many “full show recordings” among them. This is a good opportunity to organize them. “THE X FACTOUR” August 29, 1996: Santiago performance [Disc 1] August 31, 1996: Buenos Aires performance [Disc 2] “VIRTUAL XI WORLD TOUR” May 19, 1998: Madrid performance “DEFINITIVE BLAZE” December 6, 1998: Curitiba performance [Disc 3] December 12, 1996: Buenos Aires performance [Disc 4] The above five. There are many other short TV broadcasts and chopped soundboards, but these five are the only “full show professional recordings”. Of these, the Madrid performance with the highest sound quality is the 2CD “DEFINITIVE BLAZE”, but this work is a masterpiece that allows you to collect the other four professional shots at once. Now, let’s take a look at the points of each performance. [Disc 1: August 29, 1996: Santiago performance] First up is the Santiago performance of “THE X FACTOUR” (Chile). This is the best professional shot of the Blades era! Above all, the quality is the highest. Although incomplete television broadcasts have been circulating since then, this work is a full master of the leaked work of the people involved that appeared in the 21st century. It is on a different level from the air checks of the VHS era, and the visual beauty is one of the best in the entire footage of the Blades era. It has been highly praised by enthusiasts around the world as “the closest footage to the official one,” and the sound is an official-class superb stereo sound board that is beyond question. In fact, I made it a 4-disc DVDR so that you can collect it casually, but I wanted to press it with just this disc. It’s great to see the full show with that superb quality, but this work is also super famous in another sense. Blades and Steve Harris have a big fight with the audience in the front row. The scene begins with “Man On The Edge” and the encore “The Trooper.” “The Trooper” is especially intense. At the beginning of the performance, Blaze looks at the stage divers with satisfaction, but in the middle of the song, he stares at the audience in the front row as if something had happened. Steve also stands next to him, glaring at him with an angry look as he plays, plays, plays! Blaze holds the microphone, and Steve’s fingertips move like a different creature. Even though he is so angry, he doesn’t stop playing, which makes it even more scary. As soon as the beat of the next song, “Running Free,” begins, Blaze stops the performance and shouts, “I’m going to kill you. Get out!”, and Steve also puts down his bass and yells. It’s like a baseball brawl. According to one passage, it is said that the audience at the front spat on him, but even so, he is still angry after the opening song “Man On The Edge”… Anyway, this is not just a quality album, but the best, strongest, and best. [Disc 2: August 31, 1996: Buenos Aires Performance] The next disc 2 is the Buenos Aires performance (Argentina) two days later. Although the quality is one step behind that of disc 1, this is also the highest peak master leaked by the people involved. However, this video had some shooting troubles in part of “Fear Of The Dark”, and even the leaked master had a gap of about 20 seconds. Therefore, in order to realize a “full show” without any missing parts in this work, it was complemented with the same scene from the “August 24, 1996 Sao Paulo performance” which was close to the day. As it was only two days after disc 1, the set list and the contents of the show were very similar, and the quality was a little lower. It only has collection value… but the taste of this work is Blaze in great shape. To be honest, Blaze tends to be unstable not only in the repertoire of the Bruce Dickinson era, but also in his own songs, but on this day he was as stable as a different person. Of course, Blaze is Blaze, so he hasn’t transformed into a “superhuman singer”, but he sings the songs of “THE X FACTOR” as they are originally written, and even the songs from the blues era, which would be no surprise if he was screaming, reach the high notes and stretch out! When it comes to this, the charm of his original wild voice shines brightly. The “manly” nature of the songs hidden in the dramatics and beautiful harmonies is brought out, and it is a very tough metal performance. “DEFINITIVE BLAZE” was also great, so it’s hard to say for sure, but this may be Blaze’s best performance. [Disc 3: December 6, 1998: Curitiba performance] From the alternative disc 3 is “VIRTUAL XI WORLD TOUR”. As mentioned above, there are two full pro shots from the Blaze era in “THE X FACTOUR” and two in “VIRTUAL XI WORLD TOUR”. All of them are South American tours. This work is the best video of such “VIRTUAL XI WORLD TOUR”. First of all, the quality is amazing, and it is a vivid professional shot second only to the 1996 Chile performance on Disc 1. The show depicted with that beautiful imagery is a show with a great contrast between hard and soft. In “THE X FACTOUR”, the dark new songs and aggressive old songs were contrasted, but “VIRTUAL XI WORLD TOUR” is lyrical but also injected with momentum. It is very well balanced and draws you in. On top of that, the best thing about this Curitiba performance (Brazil) is the eddie. On Disc 4 after this, there is only the stilt eddie, but on this disc’s “Iron Maiden”, a huge eddie of “VIRTUAL XI” specification appears! Its size is different from other tours, and it is so huge that both arms embrace the entire stage. This is the first time we have seen such a big eddie since “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR 1986-1987”, and you can witness one of the most powerful scenes in IRON MAIDEN history with multi-camera. However, it seems that there was a mistake on this day, and Eddie’s appearance was early, which was quite awkward. It was also a bit of a sad scene (you can see the normal appearance scene in “PRO-SHOT COLLECTION 1995-1998”). [Disc 4: December 12, 1996: Buenos Aires performance] The last performance is the Buenos Aires performance (Argentina), six days after Disc 3. This day was the last day of the world tour and the last show of the Blaze era. This is also a famous pro shot from that time, but the mono sound was difficult. This work is a different leaked stereo master, which was previously used for the bonus DVDR “FINAL BLAZING”. This master has not yet been updated to the best, and has been re-recorded in this work. The highlight of this disc is Blaze’s last performance. At that time, there was no talk of Bruce & Adrian Smith’s return, and Blaze himself did not think that it would be the last. As if enjoying the final day of the world tour, he shoots the audience with a handy camera, howls a lot, and sings enthusiastically. Including that bouncing, you can witness the “final destination of the Blaze era” in a full multi-camera show. The “Blaze era” was only a few songs on the B-side of the single officially. This is a great set that allows you to collect four full shows with the best master’s multi-camera pro shots. Whether you’re someone who says “There are a lot of South American pro shots and I don’t know much about them,” or “I’ve never seen a Blaze live show,” this one is perfect. It’s the entrance to “Blaze era MAIDEN” and the final answer, 7 hours, 31 minutes, and 6 seconds. Come on, this is a magnificent masterpiece!
