Description
The 4CD is not only special but also a blockbuster. This is truly a super definitive collection of rare tracks. However, if you were asked, “Are there any other official tracks?”, the only answer would be “no.” It’s part of the nature of collectors to love every corner of a box like a kitten, and that’s part of the real thrill of rare trucks. For those of you out there, we’ve also prepared a copy that won’t work. This work includes 14 studio recordings. Of course, this is a collection of maniac super superb stereo soundboards that were leaked from both the official album and the ultra-volume 4CD. It’s best to introduce them individually to see how far they go. So let’s hurry! [Another version (3 songs)] Like the 4CD, this work is also recorded in sections rather than chronologically. The opening song is “Another Version.” It’s not that they couldn’t fit on 4CDs, but there are reasons for these three songs. First up is “Churchill’s Speech/Aces High (Clip Version).” “Aces High” includes Churchill’s familiar speech. For the 4CD, I permanently saved the “Camp Chaos Version” with flight sounds, but this one is just a speech attached. The same goes for the second song “Out Of The Silent Planet (Promo Clip Version)”. It is a long version with cheers added for the PV of the live video, but the processing is the best. After the song (single edit) played normally, a call suddenly came in saying “Maiden! Maiden!”. This also has nothing to do with the performance, and without the live footage it would be meaningless, so I decided to include it in this work. The third song is “Dance Of Death (Orchestral Version 2)” which was included in the rare promo single “Rainmaker (Pock iT! Mini CD)”. Collectors are desperately looking for this record because it is a rare edition, but in fact, the contents are the same as the “Orchestral Version” even though they have gone out of their way to say “Version 2” in the credit. We can’t keep two of the same takes forever, and it’s painful to have people ignore us and look for what kind of arrangement “Version 2” has. Therefore, we have prepared a take for this work. [Various edited versions (9 songs)] The most common version of this work is the edited version, which is a shortened version of the original take. There aren’t many meaningful edits from the Blues era like “Virus” from the Blaze era. I was attracted to meaningful credits like “The Number Of The Beast (Priceless Edit)” and looked for promo discs, but in many cases I found that there was no intro story…so it was not included in the 4CD. Also, “The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg” has two types of credits, “Edited Version” and “Rock Club Version”, but since the contents are the same, only one take was recorded in this work. Among such edits, “Holy Smoke (Censored Version)” is the most manic and strangely interesting. This is a very rare 7-inch promo take, with two “shit” parts removed from the lyrics. What’s special about it is the way it’s cut, and it’s as rough as it gets. It’s not like I’m going to fix it from scratch or add a beep like MEGADETH. I simply cut the tape along with the backing to shrink it. Of course, the beat is off, and the processing is patchy. To be honest, it’s a bad take that makes you want to say, “Is this really an official job?”, but it also brings to mind the face of an engineer who cuts corners in response to annoying requests from radio stations. Even in this work, it is a super maniac and a must-listen take. [Super unique tracks (2 songs)] The final part of this work is two unique tracks. “Bayswater Ain’t A Bad Place To Be”, which was the secret track for the single “Be Quick Or Be Dead”, and “Mission From ‘Arry”, the B-side of the single “2 Minutes To Midnight”. MAIDEN’s singles and promo discs include a huge amount of interviews and Nico McBrain’s talking tracks, but those are not included in the main press 4CD or this work. However, we have included two of the most unusual tracks as representatives. First of all, “Bayswater Ain’t A Bad Place To Be”, this is Dickinson talking for about 8 minutes. However, it is not a normal story, but a blues-style guitar is used as a backing, and the talk is also rap-like. Although it’s hard to call it a “song” since it’s just a simple walking bass, it’s a take that is just barely musical. And the last song, “Mission From ‘Arry”, is a complete talk track. However, this is also not normal, and the content is an argument (fight?) between Nico and Steve. The recording was made in the dressing room of the “August 18, 1983 Allentown performance.” At the show that day, Steve had trouble with his bass during Nico’s drum solo, so he told the staff, “Please tell Nico that the drum solo should be long.” However, during the solo, Nico was not able to get the message across and simply couldn’t concentrate and his solo was ruined. Then, after the show, Nico and Steve got into an argument, which Bruce found interesting and secretly recorded. Although it is only famous as the B-side of a major single, it is a nostalgic take that is loved by overseas enthusiasts as “the best B-side track!” More rare tracks, 14 songs, 71 minutes 28 seconds. Combined with the 4 CDs, it is a masterpiece collection of over 70 songs and 6 hours. Despite the huge number of albums, not a single one is the same as the original album, and unlike the many compilations that have already been released, it is a studio album that is fun to listen to because it is a disc with a specific purpose.
