Description

“FEAR OF THE DARK TOUR 1992” was Bruce Dickinson’s last visit to Japan with long hair. Here is a precious audience shot. IRON MAIDEN came to Japan for the sixth time with “FEAR OF THE DARK”, which was even said to be “the masterpiece since ‘The Magic Seal’!” in the UK at the time. This work includes “October 26, 1992: Nagoya Rainbow Hall performance”. First, let’s check the position from the tour schedule at that time. ・October 26: Nagoya Rainbow Hall [this work] ・October 28: Fukuoka Welfare Pension Hall ・October 30: Hiroshima Welfare Pension Hall ・November 1: Osaka Archaic Hall ・November 2: Osaka Festival Hall ・November 3: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium ・November 4: Yoyogi Stadium All together, 7 performances. The Nagoya performance in this work was the first day of the live. This work is a truly wonderful audience shot. It was shot from the stand on the right side of the stage (Janick Gers side), but it was the front seat, so the head and arm of the front row were not reflected (the shadow of the fence was a little) and the visibility was excellent. What’s even more amazing is the freshness of the master, there are no dubbing marks and no white line noise. The color is vivid and beautiful, and the album art of the backdrop is also clear and beautiful. It is a visual beauty that vividly revives the memories of that time. And the camera work is also wonderful. It is clearly a hidden recording, but the bold zoom does not miss the highlights. It follows Bruce and Steve Harris who are moving around, and the backdrop that changes for each song, and the stilts of “The Clairvoyant” are firmly held down. Perhaps because he was too focused on Bruce & Steve, he noticed the giant tree fairy edit of “Iron Maiden” late, but of course after he noticed it, he took a perfect shot. The splendor of the show depicted by that quality… The blues singing voice that made a great comeback with the previous “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD” is still there, and the masterpieces that have continued from “The Magic Seal” are rushing. The taste unique to “FEAR OF THE DARK TOUR” that draws the overall set list with powerful vocals is full. MAIDEN is looking forward to the reissue of the official video “DONINGTON LIVE 1992”, but I’m a little worried about whether they will make the hard-to-see video processing decent. However, this work is a 100% naked eye scene of the real thing. It is a piece that will bring back memories of that time with a realistic experience. It is rumored that there will be a reprint tour of this era in the near future, but first please enjoy the “real thing” with this work to your heart’s content.
