Description
This newly unearthed recording captures a high-quality mono audience recording of a performance in Denmark in 1977, the year of the band’s revival with the release of the classic albums “Idiot” and “Lust for Life.” This excellent mono audience recording captures the second half of the “Lust for Life Tour” held at Daddy’s Dancehall in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 19, 1977. While mono, the vocals are clear and loud, and each part is well-balanced and well-recorded. The lineup includes guitarist Stacey Hayden, who also toured with David Bowie in 1976, on guitar, Tony Sales on bass, Hunt Sales on drums, and Scott Thurston on guitar and keyboards. The Sales Brothers, the rhythm section, also participated in the recording of “Lust for Life,” and Scott also participated in the “TV Eye” tour the following year. Featuring six tracks from the recently released “Lust for Life,” this powerful setlist includes a bold funk cover of the period-defining R&B classic “That’s How Strong My Love Is,” a classic from O.V. Wright and Otis Redding. Recorded at Copenhagen Daddy’s Dance Hall, Denmark, September 19, 1977: 1. Sixteen, 2. Lust for Life, 3. The Passenger, 4. I Got a Right, 5. Neighborhood Threat, 6.
