This is the first pressing of their second album “MAGAZINE”, which was released in 1977 but was recalled due to various reasons, on a master quality 1CD. After HEART’s debut, they only released their first album “Dreamboat Annie”, and moved from Mushroom Records to Portrait. In 1977, Portrait released “Little Queen”, and Mushroom released “MAGAZINE” without HEART’s consent. Naturally, HEART sued to stop the release of “MAGAZINE”, claiming that it was unfinished, and the lawsuit was accepted. The first pressing was canceled and recalled, and it seemed like the end of the matter, but at the time HEART was under contract to release one more album from Mushroom, so they ended up releasing a new “MAGAZINE” the following year in 1978 after band overdubbing, remixing, and changing the track order. Therefore, the first edition of this title is completely different from the current 1978 edition in terms of mix, recording takes of some songs, and two live songs are recorded longer and unedited. It has become an ultimate collector’s item for fans, and now it has finally been released on CD. For this CD, digital transfer conversion was done by professional editing using the latest equipment, removing 99% of the scratch noise from the mint condition analog, and recording with a sound faithful to the original sound without using compressors or limiters. In addition, two single versions from the same album that have not been released on CD, three mono mixes only on the promo version, and two from 1978’s “CALIFORNIA JAM 2,” which is also difficult to reissue, are added as bonus tracks, totaling seven songs.
