Harold Land, one of the most talented tenor players on the West Coast, famous for his work with the Brown-Roach Quintet, and Blue Mitchell, a star trumpeter who made his name in Horace Silver’s group, performed at the International Jazz Festival in Laren, Netherlands on August 12, 1978. This two-disc set is recorded with the finest stereo soundboard recordings. Special guests include Teddy Edwards, a tenor player who represents the West Coast, Richie Cole, whose bebop playing is in line with Charlie Parker and Phil Woods, and Eddie Jefferson, a legendary jazz vocalist.
