Description

Once again, the best version from the miraculous “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” has arrived! This work contains the “Seattle performance on June 1, 1988”. This show is not the first in the world, and there have been records of it in the past. So, what is the “second installment”? It’s the origin. Yes, like “CHICAGO 1987”, it is the latest collection released by the prestigious “Krw_co”. I’m curious about the contents, but first, let’s grasp the position of the show from the overall picture of the tour. [1987] June 19-28: Europe #1 (3 performances in the UK) August 1-September 17: North America #1 (24 performances) September 29-October 8: Europe #2 (8 performances) October 16-December 31: North America #2 (49 performances) [1988] January 5-February 12: North America #3 (13 performances) March 31-June 8: North America #4 (30 performances) ←★Here★ July 9-September 17: North America #5 + Donington (40 performances) December 4-19: Japan/Oceania (9 performances) The other day’s “CHICAGO 1987” was “North America #2”, but this Seattle performance is “North America #4”. This is the 26th concert. This work is also the best this time. In fact, this recording was once introduced as “SELF DESTRUCTION BLUES” on the Lagley label, but it is a “Krw_co” collection. The Langley version had a great sound, and many enthusiasts were excited, saying “This is amazing!” and “This is the best GUNS bootleg!!”, but this one is much fresher than that. The flavor of this recording is in the direct feeling with almost no sense of distance, but its vividness is much more powerful. In fact, it is different from the type that is called “just like a sound board”, but the “big feeling” and “closeness” of the performance and singing voice are like line recording. Moreover, the audience noise is also very far away, and the sound of the customer recording is about as realistic as a real tone. Although it is such a “Krw_co” collection, the master released on the Internet also had a big drawback. One is the pitch. In the difficult parts, it is almost a semitone high, and it feels strange at first listen. Axel’s singing voice was also on the verge of Mickey Mouse. And the other is the discomfort of the left and right stereo. It’s hard to put into words, but the sound quality is different between the left and right, making it a very unsettling sound. To be honest, if it had been left as it was, I wouldn’t have thought of keeping it forever. However, fortunately, our shop had experience with the Lagley record. We could see the “potential” contained in the master itself, and we also knew how to “transform” it. We accurately corrected the pitch, unified the sound nuances on the left and right, and also adjusted the somewhat muffled “sound” on top of that… Of course, we didn’t make any major changes to the original flavor, but because we were familiar with the direction, we were able to create the best version that sounds like “a different sound source” with just a little correction. A show drawn with such a best sound… This is also amazing, wonderful! After all, Axl Rose is wild! He’s a bit rough, but GUNS is amazing because that’s not a flaw but a beauty. His husky voice creates a “fierceness”, and that momentum pulls the whole band. It’s a short set only as an opening act for IRON MAIDEN, but that’s why his concentration doesn’t relax even for a moment until the end. It’s too wild to be called “tense.” It’s too dense to be called “rough.” That’s the kind of show it is. The whole show is already very dense, but the best thing to listen to is “It Tastes Good, Don’t It?”. It’s a super rare song that has not only never been recorded in a studio, but has only been played a few times, and this is the oldest existing record. It’s not just rare, it’s cool. Axel’s excellent sense of rhythm shows off his rap, and the band bites into it. This is also very cool, and with that same vibe, they avalanche into “Rocket Queen.” Rare songs are boring, so there are few opportunities to play them… This is an excellent scene that overturns such prejudice. If the opening is “It Tastes Good, Don’t It?”, the best thing to listen to at the end is “Nightrain.” Before the song, Axel asks the audience, “Which do you want to hear, Nightrain or Paradise City?” and lets them vote. They competed to see who could cheer louder, and it was decided that “Nightrain is the winner,” but then Slash played “Paradise City.” Axel laughed and said, “Hey, that’s not it,” and this time the fierce “Nightrain” started to run… The sound was so clear that you could clearly hear Axel’s voice asking “Nightrain?” and “Paradise City?”, and the cheers in response to that were clear. And the mayhem caused by “Nightrain” was also incredibly real. It was a highlight that exploded with the feeling of being in “1988.” Another superb live album from the prestigious “Krw_co.” A wild Axel and GUNS N’ ROSES, fueled by his enthusiasm, went wild with the “sound in front of you.” This is a gem among gems that you can enjoy even the extremely rare “It Tastes Good, Don’t It?” with that sound.
