Description
“2019 NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR” has finally begun. The first video that allows you to experience the scene in real time is now available. This work includes “September 28, 2019 Louisville Performance”. This is a spectacular audience shot from when they appeared at the large festival “LOUDER THAN LIFE FESTIVAL”. This festival was held over three days at the end of September, and as the name suggests, 53 loud bands/musicians participated. GUNS N’ ROSES performed as the opening act on the second day. It’s been a long time since we released a new title, but that’s due to the current status of our activities. “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR” is the fourth year since we reunited in 2016, but this year things were a little different. In early spring, there was news that he was working on a new studio project, but at the same time, Slash’s solo activities also became more active. There was a gap of nine and a half months until the world tour ended, and only 16 performances were scheduled in North America. And the Louisville performance of this work is the beginning. This is the third concert. This work, shot at such a show, is a bold and spectacular view. The photo was taken from the arena seats, which are directly in front of the center of the stage (slightly towards the slash?), but what’s great about it is the height of the viewpoint. I don’t know if he’s holding it up in his hand or a smartphone with a selfie stick attached, but he can see the stage directly over the heads of the audience in front of him. Moreover, the field of view is wide. If you pull back hard enough, you’ll be able to see the entire view of the huge monitor at the back of the stage, which is so far away that you’d think it’s in the center of the arena, and the CG movie shown there announcing the start of the performance is also beautifully captured. There are smartphones being held up one after another in front of the audience (this is typical of modern times), but the stage takes over the entire field of view, overlooking them. What is surprising is that the field of vision continues on and on. When the show started, the smartphones in front of them disappeared one by one and fists were raised, but the photographer didn’t lower them. I ended up recording almost a full show of about 3 hours as it was (although it is not strictly complete as there are some slight cuts in some parts, perhaps due to frame-outs). Moreover, the stability and camera work are excellent. I talked about the sense of distance earlier, but the majority of this work is not a distant view, but a series of bold zoom shots. Despite the environment where crowd surfers often roll around, he freely controls his gaze and keeps the accelerator and slashes in the center of the screen. It may be a children’s romp with a gyro function, but it perfectly balances reality in the midst of mayhem and ease of viewing. It is truly an “experience-based” masterpiece video. The show depicted with such visual beauty is a passionate performance by GUNS, who returned to the stage after a long time. The set is a continuation of the previous “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR”, but since it is a good opportunity, let’s organize the contents. ●APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION (7 songs)・It’s So Easy/Mr. Brownstone/Welcome To The Jungle/Rocket Queen/Sweet Child O’ Mine/Nightrain/Paradise City ●USE YOUR ILLUSION I (4 songs)・Double Talkin’ Jive/ Live And Let Die/Coma/November Rain ●USE YOUR ILLUSION II (5 songs)・Estranged/You Could Be Mine/Civil War/Yesterdays/Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door ●CHINESE DEMOCRACY (3 songs)・Chinese Democracy/Better/Madagascar ●Others (8 songs) ・Shadow Of Your Love [EP: GUNS N’ ROSES] / Patience [G N’ R LIES] ・Cover: Slither (Velvet Revolver) / Attitude (Misfits) / Wichita Lineman (Jimmy Webb) /Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd) /Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden) /The Seeker (The Who)…and so on. I think the standard for modern GUNS N’ ROSES footage is the professional shot “ROCK IN RIO 2017” from two years ago, but they also include “Madagascar,” which was not seen there, and “Slither” by VELVET REVOLVER, which they started playing last year. “Shadow Of Your Love” will also be performed. It is truly the latest type of “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR”. And what makes Axel feel even more “2019” than that is Axel’s appearance. Her hair was cut short and she didn’t wear a bandana. Perhaps because of this, he looks really youthful and has a sharp edge in his actions. GUNS N’ ROSES is said to be focusing on producing new music after completing their fall US tour. Of course, their plans are still undecided, but if things go as planned, it will be several years before they return to the road, and it will be a different album tour than they are currently doing. Sho. In other words, this fall tour is the latest and final form of “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR”. This work is a piece that allows you to experience the scene in an ultra-realistic way from a scenic seat. A video work suitable for the first installment of the latest report.
