Description

The first reorganized tour in 24 years, “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME…”, has engulfed the whole of Japan. There have been a series of intense recordings from each performance, but this is one of the best. No, this is a rare, superb live album on a global scale! This work contains the “January 22, 2017: Kobe World Memorial Hall Performance”. This concert was reported on the fastest CDR “LIVE KOBE 2017” the other day, but this work is a superb live album that far surpasses that masterpiece. There has been a rush of releases every week recently, so let’s organize them.・January 21: “OSAKA 2017” ・January 22: Kobe World Memorial Hall [This work] ・January 25: “LIVE YOKOHAMA 2017” ・January 28: “LIVE SAITAMA 2017 1ST NIGHT” ・January 29: “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2017 2ND NIGHT” In this way, all five performances had a powerful live album. This week, three albums from the Osaka performance, Kobe performance, and the second day of the Saitama performance will be released at once. This work is the Kobe performance. The sound of this work is the best of the best. It is not only “the top of the day”, but also an excellent recording for the entire tour. To be honest, the simultaneously released “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2017 2ND NIGHT” has an abnormally high sound quality, so it cannot be called “Tour No. 1” lightly, but it is definitely a transcendent sound that competes for the first and second best in the “NOT IN THIS LIFETIME TOUR” recordings that are being released all over the world. The individuality of that sound is… I’m in trouble. It’s so perfect that if you start listing “bass is â—‹â—‹” and “edge is ☆☆”, there will be no end. I introduced “LIVE KOBE 2017” as “the type that is called a sound board”, but this work is “like an official album”. The extremely clear and direct performance and singing voice are close up, and each grain shines crystal clear. Duff McKagan’s gritty bass and the tone of Slash that no one else can sound are extremely glossy. In the future, there may be official live albums and studio works, but the sound you can hear there will be almost the same as this work… Furthermore, the cheers are as if they were from an official live album. Even though it is an official sound, it is an audience recording, so this work is filled with lively applause. However, it is strangely far away, and on top of that, it goes back and forth with plenty of spectacle. The balance is like that of an official live album with a precise mix. The one who made this “as if it were official” sound is the master “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”. The first day of the Osaka performance “OSAKA 2017”, released at the same time this week, is also his work, but this work is an even more amazing one. The difference between the two masters is also due to the venue. The “World Memorial Hall” where the event took place is a venue with a capacity of 8,000 people, which is small even by global standards. The tour is still ongoing, so I can’t say for sure, but it will probably be the second smallest venue after the warm-up performance (which was a club with a capacity of 500 people) that was the world’s first. Of course, 8,000 people is a large venue like the Nippon Budokan, but the magic sound of “Mr. Strongest” was added to it, and a superb direct sound was born. And the size of the venue is also reflected in the show. The set has been extended by two songs (“Attitude” and “Patience” are dropped, and “New Rose”, “Out Ta Get Me”, “Sorry” and “Don’t Cry” are set), but the performance is hot. The sense of concentration and closeness of the monster GUNS N’ ROSES being pushed into a venue of less than 10,000 people is amazing. Instead of delivering to an audience with no end in sight, there is a sense of closeness in a space where everyone’s presence can be seen. On top of that, Axl Rose’s singing voice is also in top form. He is clearly in better shape than in the Osaka performance, and when it comes to “Don’t Cry”, he roars with the same beautiful voice as in the 90s…. This is a one-off that has all the great sounds, great songs, and great performances. It’s not a stadium, a dome, or an arena, but GUNS N’ ROSES in a hall. This is a masterpiece of a live album that captures a rare concert all over the world with a super sound that competes for the first and second in the world. It is a masterpiece of “Mr. Strongest”, who has become one of the most famous tapers in Japan.
