Description
With the death of Gregg Allman at the age of 69 in May 2017, four of the six original Allman Brothers members were absent, bringing another chapter in the history of Southern Rock to an end. In memory of Gregg, a live performance at The Stone in San Francisco on September 22nd, from his solo band’s US tour in 1984, was recorded in master quality and with a soundboard. Although some parts have been cut because it was a broadcast recording, the entire concert is almost completely recorded, and this solo tour, led by talented musicians from Muscle Shoals, actively performed Allman numbers that had not been covered for a long time until this time. He also performs songs from his 70’s solo repertoire and numbers from his solo album “Just Before the Bullets Fly,” but the highlight is the all-man numbers at the end, such as “Statesboro Blues” and “One Way Out,” where he shows off his passionate vocals. The instrumental jam in the middle also features the superb performances of talented musicians, making this a memorial item. DISC 1: 01. Intro/02. Dreams/03. Old Time Feeling/04. Hot ‘Lanta/05.
