Description
This is amazing! Graham Bonnet Band has acquired the title of “third neoclassical man” after Yngwie Malmsteen and Chris Impellitteri. Their latest and best live album is here!! Wow, this is a shocking work. Recently, when it comes to Graham, the only thing that’s been talked about is the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST (hereafter MSF). It’s certainly interesting, and the new song “Warrior” has also been released, and the excitement is only building. However, a major event has also occurred in his solo band. That is the joining of “third neoclassical man”, Joey Tafolla! Speaking of Joey, he is a super guitarist (is that an obsolete term?) who was one of the three main stars of the early Shrapnel label along with Tony MacAlpine and Vinnie Moore. Moreover, he is not just a fool, but a person who made a name for himself with a flurry of song-like phrases. His debut album “OUT OF THE SUN” released in 1987 is a great masterpiece among the immortal masterpieces of neoclassical metal that still shines today. Joey has teamed up with Graham… This is shocking news that reminds us of Yngwie Impellitteri! Graham and Joey Tafolla are also working on a new album, but that’s still a long way off. Currently, they only perform live. This is the latest live album by these two. It is a double audience recording of the “November 23, 2017 Leicester performance (Disc 1-2)” and the “November 24, 2017 Belfast performance (Disc 3)”. Before we get into the content, let’s start with the show position. 2017 is complicated because of the double role with MSF, so let’s organize it here. [2017] ・January 6th-March 4th: North America #1-2/Europe #1 (11 shows) ・March 13th-16th: Japan #1 (3 shows) ・April 14th-June 3rd: Europe #2 (10 shows) {June 27th: Joey Tafolla joins} ★July 15th: Germany (1 show: MSF) ・July 21st-29th: Europe #3 (5 shows) ★October 15th+16th: Japan #2 (2 shows: MSF) ★October 25th-November 5th: Europe #4 (9 shows: MSF)・November 18th-December 5th: Europe #5 (15 performances) ←★Here★・December 11th-16th: North America #3 (3 performances) [2018]・January 11th-17th: North America #4 (3 performances)★March 6th-April 3rd: North America #5 (20 performances: MSF) [Amazing related recording album] This is the schedule for 2017-2018 that has been published so far. The “・” mark is GRAHAM BONNET BAND, and the “★” mark is MSF. The final stage of MSF’s “Europe #4” was in the UK, and from there, he avalanched into solo “Europe #5” without any break. This work is the 5th-6th concert. This work, which contains such a notable show, is also special in quality. It is definitely a vivid audience recording, but it is different from the customer records of the others. It is a related recording brought by our own route. Of course, the quality is superb. Recently, there have been superb editions such as “FINLAND 2017” and “JAPAN TOUR 2017”, but you can think of this as the latest version. It is a “professional audience” that can choose any position and equipment. In particular, the Belfast performance on Disc 3 is an exquisite masterpiece in which the essential vocals and guitar stand out in full force. [Neoclassical hero and Graham’s great performance] I would like to talk about the quality in detail, but the greatest thing about this work is the show itself. After all, it’s the first time in about 30 years that I’ve teamed up with a neoclassical hero! First of all, Joey is a wonderful person who is fascinated by this. The set is Graham’s golden greatest hits, but every song has a beautiful and sharp guitar! His predecessor Conrad Pessinard also did a good job, but the splendor of the phrases is different. Especially in Yngwie’s songs, he pretends to be completely faithful to the original, but he freely changes the details of the phrases and plays them to the max. Moreover, the way he changes them is full of the aroma of the dawn of neoclassical music. It’s not just a perfect copy, it’s not like he’s practicing scales, and he doesn’t blindly believe in the original. The singing spirit that made “OUT OF THE SUN” a masterpiece peeks out from time to time. This “tickling” is irresistible in all the songs, but the one where Joey’s effect shines is especially bright in “Eyes Of The World”. As you know, it’s a stylized song by RAINBOW, but it wasn’t played by ALCATRAZZ or IMPELLITTERI in the Yngwie era, and subsequent guitarists were faithful to Richie’s original. However, in this work, Joey has refinished it in a neoclassical style. You can enjoy the never-before-seen “neoclassical Eyes Of The World” with the best sound. Furthermore, the masterpiece “Starcarr Lane” can even be said to be Joey’s achievement in playing it!!! The last super masterpiece of “NO PAROLE FROM ROCK ‘N’ ROLL” that has never been performed by ALCATRAZZ or solo. Now, with the help of Neoclassical Hero, it is finally being released live! This means that all the songs from Alcatrazzo 1st have been sung on stage. Maybe, in the future, a complete reproduction show of “NO PAROLE FROM ROCK ‘N’ ROLL” is possible!?!? … Such a dream is spreading. Moreover, it is also wonderful. The key to it is Graham himself. At his solo and ALCATRAZZ Japan tour in March this year, he showed us a voice that surprised us with “Is this the heyday now?” (It didn’t work in MSF), and this work continues to be in that great form. He carefully sings both “Stand In Line” and “Starcarr Lane”, and stretches out comfortably. Even in “Desert Song”, he sings it beautifully in his solo (even MSF should sing this well…). As expected, the highest notes of the extremely difficult song “Jet To Jet” are exhausting (Joey is also exhausted on this song. Please get used to it quickly), but on the contrary, it makes me feel strangely relieved that he was singing it properly live. It’s such an amazing voice. It’s just amazing. It’s a must-listen! Especially the Belfast performance on Disc 3. Discs 1-2 are long shows with three more songs, but I want you to experience the impact of the Belfast performance where the vocals and guitar are thrust in front of you first! Graham, accompanied by the neo-classical heroes of the 1980s, roars with a singing voice that is said to be the best in his career. This is a highly anticipated album that captures it with a professional audience of people involved. I’m looking forward to the new work and US tour with Michael Schenker, but his solo has become even more amazing. This work is the “proof of the sound”. It may be that only enthusiasts will be able to hear it (Jimmy Waldo is also there, so it would be better to call it ALCATRAZZ with Joey…), but that’s why enthusiasts absolutely need to know about it. This is an absolute record where you can meet the most brilliant Graham Bonnet in 2017. ★Microphone recording leaked by related parties, the content and sound quality are superb.
