The live performance at Nakano Sun Plaza on June 19th, the final day and highlight of their first visit to Japan in 1982, was held by these girls who were a huge hit as a girl pop band from Los Angeles. This album is coupled with two sources: the longest and best version of the soundboard recording and the full audience live from the original audience master. Disc 1 contains a complete recording of the day’s performance over 78 minutes with amazing quality for an audience recording at the time. Their full live recordings are valuable, and the set includes all the songs from their smash hit “BEAUTY AND THE BEAT,” 8 songs from the yet to be released “VACATION,” as well as “Surf And Spy,” the B-side of a single, the famous Elvis Presley cover “Let’s Have A Party,” and “Tokyo Boy,” which was not included in the album. This is a set that can only be found at the height of their popularity. Disc 2 contains all 13 songs from the live performance that day, as stereo soundboard recordings from the FM on-air master at the time. Although the recordings have been available for some time, this one has been digitally remastered to bring you the best quality, and the cuteness of Belinda’s Japanese introduction of the band members seems to convey the relaxed atmosphere of the venue. At the time, the huge success of “BEAUTY AND THE BEAT” had not yet worn off, and the release of “VACATION” was just around the corner, and “Vacation” was being played in TV commercials for cars with the catchphrase “Wet, wet, summer!
