Description
On April 9th, the band’s first performance in Japan in 2018 was held in Osaka and Tokyo, and the performance at Orchard Hall in Tokyo was recorded in full with perfect soundboard quality from a multi-stereo IEM matrix source. First of all, the familiar line sound source from the uncompressed multi-ear monitor source used by the band members on stage for monitoring and the digital audience master from the front row are fully matrixed, with each part separated and positioned, and then the exquisite audience source for professional use is mixed into a stereo mix, and this time it is at the same level of quality as a soundboard. And in 2018, the super group Gizmodrome, which has been a hot topic around the world, will be performing in Japan for the first time. The band is made up of the surprising members Adrian Belew, Stewart Copeland from The Police, Vittorio Cosma from PFM, and Mark King from Level 42. The debut album Gizmodrome also features Copeland’s songs, which these masters have transformed into a bizarre and perverted pop sound, making their live performance highly anticipated. The anticipated set will begin with all songs from the debut album except for “Stark Naked,” and of course, songs from each of their careers will also be selected. Copeland will of course perform four songs from The Police, “Miss Gradenko,” “Does Everyone Stare,” “Darkness,” and “Bombs Away,” as well as Clark Kent’s “Excesses” and “Don’t Box Me In,” a duet with Stan Ridgway. Belew performed his solo “Young Lions” and Crimson’s “Elephant Talk” and “Thela Hun Ginjeet”. It was also interesting that the four shared the vocals depending on the song, and Belew sang the main part of Police’s “Miss Gradenko”, while Mark sang “Darkness”. And of course, as the members boast superb skills, Copeland, who sang the main part, welcomed Pete Ray Begin of LEVEL 42 as a support drummer, but of course he showed his stick handling everywhere, Mark also got involved with high-speed slapping, and the rhythm section including Pete was still strong. And of course, Belew’s perverted guitar was at full throttle, and Vittorio’s keyboard, which beautifully brought together the three strong personalities, was also wonderful, and especially “Elephant Talk”, where everyone plays the main role and their personalities blend together, was moving. This limited edition collector’s edition commemorating their visit to Japan perfectly recreates that rare stage performance, and also includes six additional bonus tracks from the sound check before the venue that day.
