Description

The illusory official video is reprinted with the highest quality ever. The protagonist of this work is GIUFFRIA, a melodic hard flower that bloomed in the 80s. This famous band disappeared after leaving only two albums, but this work is a meticulous digitalization of the official work “JAPAN TOUR ’85” released between those two albums. Former ANGEL keyboardist Greg Geoffrea formed a new band in 1984. At first, it was a reunited ANGEL, but they changed their name to GIUFFRIA and released their debut album “GIUFFRIA”. With the smash hit “Call To The Heart”, they emerged as a “famous band known only to those in the know”. Of course, the sharp-eared Japanese fans of Western music responded immediately, and the following year in 1985, they miraculously made their first visit to Japan. This work contains the full set of “June 26, 1985: Nakano Sun Plaza Performance” from that first visit to Japan. For the sake of record, let’s record the dates of their first visit to Japan here. ・June 25th: Nakano Sun Plaza ・June 26th: Nakano Sun Plaza [this work] ・June 27th: Shibuya Public Hall ・July 1st: Osaka Festival Hall There were four performances in total. There were two performances at Nakano Sun Plaza, and this work is the second day. Although it was just after their debut, the tour was realized in a distant foreign country, and the pattern was officially filmed. It was released as an official VHS. Our shop has reproduced many out-of-print laser discs, but unfortunately this work does not have a laser disc, and the best is the Japanese version VHS. This work was reproduced in detail from a mint quality version that was treasured by a domestic core maniac. Of course, although it is not a laser disc, the precision of the digitization is the same as the previous series. It was commissioned to an overseas analog video specialist manufacturer and digitized in a professional high-end environment. In fact, the visual beauty of this work is extremely wonderful. As always, core collectors are provided with masters that are so good that they wonder, “Didn’t you just buy it and not play it?”, but with VHS, this feeling is even stronger. The image quality excavated from a beautiful product with no tape twist is free of a single line noise and even distortion at the edge of the screen. Due to the nature of the on-site stage, the screen is a little dark to modern eyes, but the lit-up members are vivid even to modern eyes. The quality that does not give the slightest sense of unevenness in the running is a dimension that is impossible for consumer devices, and the same goes for the superb sound. Even if the master was preserved by the official side, it would not have been preserved so beautifully…it is of such superb quality. GIUFFRIA’s show, depicted with such beautiful images, is a fantasy-like “melodic hard paradise”. At the time, there was only the debut work, and they played 8 of the 10 songs other than “Dance” and “The Awakening”, and inserted “Straight To The Top” there. This is a live performance version of the masterpiece “GIUFFRIA”, and the performance is also wonderful. Former major leaguer singer David Glenn Isley sings beautiful melodies with a beautiful voice reminiscent of Steve Perry, and young Craig Goldy plays more intensely than on the album. His trickiness is even more than in the DIO days, and especially during the guitar solo time, he places his guitar on his lap like Jeff Healy and plays smooth phrases one after another. His passionate playing makes you wonder if he was dissatisfied with the fact that it was suppressed on the album. Of course, the main character Greg also plays a big role, and during his solo time he even plays “Fanfare For The Common Man” like EL&P. Also. This passionate live performance also includes an interview from the dressing room. You can enjoy it with Japanese subtitles. This is another masterpiece. When asked to introduce himself, Dave answered, “I was in the Giants in Japan,” in a voice similar to Dave Lee Roth, which is different from the one he uses on stage. When asked, “What made you become a musician?” Alan Kriger joked, “I was banging even in my mother’s womb.” It’s funny that Craig’s name is “Oldy,” but he talks about his “friend? … Ronnie James Dio,” and Greg talks about his future prospects. Now that we know what actually happened “after that,” there are even more interesting scenes. In addition, he asks, “What do you think about being compared to JOURNEY?” It’s a masterpiece interview with a number of questions that are not just one-sided. After the main story, three valuable bonus tracks are also included. The studio live “Call To The Heart” and the promo clips “Call To The Heart” and “Lonely In Love.” Both have been digitized from super-excellent masters that are comparable to the official footage of the main story. A must-see is the studio live performance of “Call To The Heart”. It is a TV program recorded on “June 24th”, just before the first day of the Japan tour, but what is more intense than the rarity and performance is the high-pitched squeals. The screams of female fans are overlaid, just like in a TV program from the 80s, but they are not a rush like idols’ popularity, but are sparse. They suddenly come in as if they remembered, but they don’t get excited. This cheapness also reflects their position at the time, making it a masterpiece video with a sense of the era. GIUFFRIA, whose existence itself is like an illusion. However, the illusion embodied the ideal of extremely beautiful melodic hard. This masterpiece revives the official video with the highest quality ever. Live at Nakano Sunplaza, Tokyo, Japan 26th June 1985 PRO-SHOT (82:19) 1. Lonely In Love 2. Rock Rules 3. Interview #1 4.
