Description

GIRL, a flower that bloomed vividly in the NWOBHM era. A new excavation master vacuum-packed their legendary first visit to Japan. Speaking of GIRL’s first visit to Japan, the CD “OSAKA 1980” gained a niche and deep core popularity, but this work is an exquisite masterpiece that can be said to be the second installment. It is a two-disc set with the full audience of the performance “December 2, 1980: Nagoya City Public Hall” on disc 1 and the FM broadcast of the performance “November 29, 1980: Asakusa International Theater (evening session)” on disc 2. First, let’s organize the schedule of their first visit to Japan, including the great album “OSAKA 1980”.・November 28: Asakusa International Theater・November 29: Asakusa International Theater (daytime performance)・November 29: Asakusa International Theater (evening performance) [Disc 2 of this work] ・December 1: Osaka Festival Hall “OSAKA 1980″・December 2: Nagoya City Public Hall [Disc 1 of this work] [Disc 1; Full audience at Nagoya City Public Hall] A total of five performances. This work is a superb live album that contains two performances, sandwiching “OSAKA 1980”. The first main performance is the full audience recording of the Nagoya performance. You can guess from the fact that it is disc 1 instead of the FM sound source, which is a genuine sound board, but this is the most intense and superb quality. When you play it, the background music before the show starts, but from here it is already “like a sound board” full open. Even when the performance started with “Wasted Youth”, the performance and singing voice were still strong and thick. And yet, even at fortissimo, there was no fear, and the sense of distance was not at all. Yellow squeals were also sucked in between the songs, but they were so far away that it made me wonder, “Where is this a guest recording!?” Still, this disc is definitely an audience recording. Because it is a master directly handed over by the recording artist himself. If the person himself had not stated it, there is no doubt that he would have credited it as “STEREO SOUNDBOARD RECORDING”… It is a transcendent vivid sound of such a dimension. The quality depicts the passionate performance of the young GIRL. The set is the same as “OSAKA 1980”, but the passionate playing and singing are even more intense. Of course, Phil Collen and Philip Lewis, who were 22 years old at the time and were visiting Japan for the first time, could not have any feelings for Nagoya, but the super direct sound makes you think so. The coolness of the rock and roll/boogie that is so characteristic of this work that it is disproportionate to their glamorous appearance/image, the chic arrangements sprinkled with elements of reggae and new wave, and the passion that emanates from all over their bodies. All of this is depicted with a direct sound. [Disc 2: Asakusa International Theater (Evening) FM Album] Following disc 1 is a genuine soundboard album. It is a famous program “FM Live Special” of a certain public broadcasting station that is familiar to old fans. The quality is unquestionably official. Speaking of NWOBHM, this program is famous for IRON MAIDEN’s first visit to Japan, and their highest peak album “DEFINITIVE LIVE KILLERS” is also very popular worldwide. I’m sure you’ve heard this if you’ve read this rubbish, but this disc is as good as that super masterpiece. You might think that the words “as good as” mean “a little bit lower,” but that’s not the case. Literally speaking, it really doesn’t give up even a half step or a quarter step. It’s a super sound that’s out of reach for any FM album. Although it was a short broadcast of only seven songs, the sound alone is flawless. It’s a super audience album that can take the lead role in a completely official FM broadcast and its superb sound. “OSAKA 1980” was a live album that made my heart burn with the tremendous sense of the era, but the straight-ball sound of this work is even better. To be honest, it’s a super sound that may even leave the realism of the audience behind. If you’re thrilled by that masterpiece, you must listen to it no matter what. If you happen to have overlooked it, you can try this work first. If you are interested in the name “GIRL” and this artwork, you will definitely be very satisfied. And if you want more, be sure to listen to the masterpiece “OSAKA 1980”. This is the first release of this phenomenal, ultra-high quality album.
