Description
The overlooked sound source is back! ! The sound source from the second day of the Tokyo Dome on December 15th, which was included in Masterport’s masterpiece “TOKYO 3 DAYS” released in 2001, is remastered and recorded. Fans will be shocked again by the fact that the sound source recorded in the front row, and moreover with DAT recording, which was still rare at that time, was actually so high quality. The final day of “TOKYO 3 DAYS” to the 17th was later remastered and recorded on the 4-disc CD “HIS MAJESTY” and is available as a current title, but the current situation was that the only way to listen to the recording takes on the 14th and 15th of “TOKYO 3 DAYS” was to find the original version. The sound quality on the 14th was average, probably because the recording position was far away, but the appearance of this version will make it clear that the take on the 15th was a “super high quality sound source that was overlooked”. That’s because in 2001, a “Bon-shari” type of equalization was popular, and “TOKYO 3 DAYS” was no exception, with a rather flashy sound. If the sound quality fits that equalization, even a flashy sound image is OK, but in the case of the second day of Tokyo, it was recorded in the front row, so the directness and density of the sound was not half-hearted, and it was a somewhat annoying sound that pierced the ears when listening. In this edition, the excessive range of sound has been adjusted and remastered to make it easier to listen to. From what I heard, it has been reborn as a sound full of natural directness, as if listening to a sound board recording or a broadcast sound source. There is a 4-disc recording of the same day, “The Grand Finale,” but compared to that, it is definitely of high quality. I don’t think there is anyone who would say that the “The Grand Finale” take is of higher quality when listening to it (even though the sound characters are completely different). The 15th was the day with the most takes adopted in George’s official live album “Live In Japan,” which means that it can be said that George himself was satisfied with that day, and fans will love being able to listen to the complete version with this high sound quality. Since the most takes from this day are included in the official album, it is a live performance that has had few releases in the past, and it is very moving to be able to listen to it on the highest sound quality album now in 2013, 22 years after the performance. First of all, please feel the quality of the sound of this master. Is this a recording from 22 years ago? You will wonder if the sound is better than Paul’s Tokyo Dome recording from last month.
