Description

GENESIS recording history’s unexplored region “THREE SIDES LIVE ENCORE TOUR 1982”. A vacuum-packed live album of the highlight performances is now available. The highlight is “September 30, 1982 London Performance”. This is a masterpiece audience recording containing a full show at the traditional venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. Speaking of 1982, it was not only the year when “THREE SIDES LIVE” was released, but also the miraculous reunion concert “SIX OF THE BEST” and Phil Collins’ first solo tour that began. First, let’s check the show’s position from its crowded schedule. [“THREE SIDES LIVE” released on June 4th]・August 1st-29th: North America (23 performances)・September 3rd-16th: Europe (10 performances)・September 18th-30th: UK (12 performances) ←★Coco★・October 2nd: SIX OF THE BEST [“THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING!” released on November 5th] [“THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING TOUR” on November 21st] Start》 This is the history of our busy 1982 activities. The “ENCORE TOUR” will be touring North America, Europe, and the UK from summer to autumn, with the highlight being three consecutive performances at Hammersmith Odeon. This work is on the final day. In addition, on April 29th, the day before this work, rehearsals for “SIX OF THE BEST” were also held at the same Hammersmith Odeon, and the concert was held at a turning point (by the way) The London performance of “THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING TOUR” was also held at Hammersmith). This work, which inhales such a show, has excellent quality. There is an audience-like feel to the realistic enthusiasm and the tone of the bass drum, so you can’t mistake it for a sound board, but the thickness of the on-core and the fineness of detail are comparable to radio broadcasts. The acoustics at the venue were also extremely faint, and if you listened to them with headphones, you would notice that the vocals were given a sense of scale. It is a famous recording that does not feel like an audience in most of the performance sounds such as guitar, bass, and synth. Even more impressive is the freshness and stability. The first part remains glossy, with no noise, tape deterioration, or twisting. In fact, it is the same recording as the Highland label’s traditional edition “MAN ON THE CORNER”, but if the song order is correct, the recording time of this work is more than 30 minutes longer. Above all, the sound quality is incomparable. Although it is not claimed to be the original master, no matter where you listen, there are no dubbing traces, and it is so fresh that you can only think of it as a master direct. The passionate performance on the final day depicted with such a sound is wonderful. Although it is a promotional tour for “THREE SIDES LIVE”, the set has been changed. “THREE SIDES LIVE” will feature plenty of songs that you won’t be able to hear. “Man On The Corner” and “Who Dunnit?” by ABACAB, which are full of that era, are delicious, but the repertoire from the progressive rock era has expanded even more. “Dance On A Volcano,” “Los Endos,” “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway,” and “I Know What I Like” are played out one after another. There is also the tour’s only soundboard album “SARATOGA SPRINGS 1982 (Amity 507)” that I introduced the other day, and it is also delicious that you can seamlessly enjoy the “In The Cage” medley that was cut in that masterpiece. However, “Supper’s Ready” is more than that. This is the only tour that was completely performed after the three people remained, and this work is the last one. It is not a complete last performance as it is also played on “SIX OF THE BEST”, but this is the last complete version of “Supper’s Ready” in the three-person era. The last day of the tour marks a major historical turning point, including the miraculous “SIX OF THE BEST” and the Philharmonic’s first solo tour. It is a masterpiece of a live album where you can experience the whole story with the clearest sound of the tour.
