Description

GENESIS in 1980, which completed the progressive rock of the three remaining members of the masterpiece “DUKE”. A special version of the representative video, which has also been made official, has been decided to be released. This work contains a multi-camera pro shot taken at the Lyceum Theatre on May 7, 1980, London. This video has long been a classic among classics, and in 2007 it was made official as a bonus video for “DUKE”. It is also a symbolic video of the “DUKE Tour”, and of course, this work is not a copy of the official product. Our shop archives a number of masterpiece programs with the finest masters by core record enthusiasts in Japan, and this is the latest edition. It is a DVD of the Japanese version aired on a certain satellite station’s famous program “Western Music Live Legend”. Before touching on the contents, let’s start with the position of the show. Let’s take a look back at the overall picture of the culmination of the “DUKE Tour” {February 15th “SMALLCREEP’S DAY” released} ・March 17-27th: UK #1 (7 performances) {March 28th “DUKE” released} ・March 28th-May 9th: UK #2 (35 performances) ←★Here★ ・May 17th-June 30th: North America (35 performances) {June “FACE VALUE” production begins} This is GENESIS in 1980. The biggest feature is the UK tour that was thoroughly toured without visiting any European countries. It is probably a reaction to the fact that there was only one performance in their home country in the previous “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour”, but even so, over 40 performances is overwhelming. It was the largest home country tour since 1973 and has never been held since then. The Lyceum performance in this work is the final version. It was the 34th performance of “UK #2”. The quality of this work, which conveys such a show, is of course superb. The complete version has already been excavated, but the source of this program is not that, but (probably) the official master released the year before the broadcast (September 2008). Although it is about 40 minutes, you can enjoy it in high-end morning assembly image quality. Moreover, it is not just an official DVD. Before and after the live, there is a commentary corner with Hiroo Nanba, and during the live, a brief history of the band and a mini commentary of each song is played in subtitles. The content is also very good. Since it is a TV program, there is no maniac information, and it is easy to understand for everyone, but the perspective is purely prog fans. Mr. Nanba also talks about how innovative the drum sound and light show were, and the ingenuity of the song composition. “I saw his second Japan tour, and the girl in front of me said, ‘Phil Collins plays the drums too,’ and I thought, ‘That’s what it means to be successful,'” he said, but any prog fan would be strangely happy to have something they think about broadcasted on the airwaves. Of course, the high-quality live performance decorated with their unique production is the lifeblood. As mentioned above, it is the same short version as the official DVD, but let’s summarize the contents for now. ・Dazzling Broadway: In The Cage/The Colony Of Slippermen ・Trick of the Tale: Dance On A Volcano/Los Endos ・Silent Storm: Afterglow ・Duke: Behind The Lines/Duchess/Guide Vocal ・Other: Drums Duet After this, when Hugh Padgham gets involved, the difference from Phil’s solo becomes increasingly unclear, but here it was still progressive, although it had a stronger pop color. A video masterpiece that lets you easily enjoy “the remaining three prog rockers” before they crossed the line, and this is the Japanese version.
