The first performance of the 1981 European tour accompanying “Abacab” on October 30th in Frankfurt was recorded in full with a super high quality stereo soundboard recording that could be released as an official live album. The direct sound, which seems to have further advanced the breakaway from the 70’s style presented in the previous work “Duke”, is truly wonderful, and you can fully enjoy the original charm and strength that only Genesis in the early 80’s had with the highest sound quality. The fullness of the live performances from this period can be heard in the official live “THREE SIDES LIVE” released the following year, but the charm and value of this work, which can be listened to in perfect sound and in the correct song order, is unparalleled. In addition to the live takes of the new songs No Reply At All, Man On The Corner, and Who Dunnit?, which have not yet been officially released, you can listen to the dramatic Firth Of Fifth, which is the biggest listening point in the middle, and Dance On A Volcano, Drum Duet, Los Endos, and I Know What I Like, which produce the grand finale in the second half, are included as they are. It is unfortunate that the microphone mistone at 30 seconds into The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, which is performed alone, is a shame, but the ironclad ensemble that dominates the whole is a perfect listening score for every song, and the rhythm combination of Chester and Mike is particularly impressive.
