Description

From August 1st to September 30th, 1982, the encore tour after the announcement of “THREE SIDES LIVE” was held in the United States and Europe every month. The performance in Frejus, France on September 4th, the second day of the European tour, was recorded in full for 2 hours and 3 minutes with a superb level of ultra-high quality audience recording. As an audience recording of this era, you can enjoy the whole picture of the show with the highest level of sound that can be described as amazing. The sound is unusually close and recorded with surprisingly stable and clear high quality sound, making it a high-quality sound source that can be enjoyed over and over again. The charm of this tour is that the set has been completely changed compared to the previous tour, and especially the opening medley of new and old songs such as Dance On A Volcano, Behind The Lines, Follow You Follow Me, and the 24-minute complete performance of Supper’s Ready, which seems to have delighted fans at the time, are full of listening points throughout the whole volume. The sound quality is so good that the Apocalypse In 9/8 part in the second half of Supper’s Ready seems to be a line recording. (The trouble with the synth not working well at 7:37-7:44 of Supper’s Ready is also fun) The deterioration at 11:50 seconds is due to the master. Misunderstanding, which completely changes the atmosphere, and the consecutive performances of Man On The Corner and Who Dunnit, which were shown on the previous year’s “Abacab” tour, are also fun to listen to. Chester’s drums are recorded very clearly, so you can enjoy the sharp sound. The medley of In The Cage, The Cinema Show, Slippermen, and Afterglow, recorded with a crisp and brilliant sound, is also a must-listen. The sound is good to begin with, but the sound quality is even better in the second half of the show, which is assumed to be recorded on the B side of the tape, and you can enjoy the amazing sound quality in various places. The power of Phil’s shout in the second half of In The Cage is overwhelming, and even the moment he leans into Cinema Show and Chester’s drum sound, which is full of dynamism and drives the song with a tremendous rhythm, are just the best and fans are sure to be excited. Afterglow’s vocals, etc., sound strangely close, as if listening to a monitor mix. The drum duet that can be heard with this sound, and Afterglow’s twin drums, which capture even the finest sounds, are powerful and definitely a must-listen for fans. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, which starts with a powerful drum intro, is played with a unique arrangement unique to this period and is very fresh. At the beginning of Dance On A Volcano, there is a mistake where the sound disappears for a moment in an analog style, as if the REC level had been touched, which is shocking, but it has been stable since then. There are also gaps at 52 seconds and 19 minutes 25 seconds of Supper’s Ready (this is a tape reverse cut), but it recovers immediately. This is the definitive version that carefully removes many noises caused by the master. Since the 1982 encore tour sound source is limited, it will definitely be a must-have title for fans.
