Description

Finally, finally, the best master of the last remaining Osaka performance is here! Suddenly, it became a story that I don’t know what it is. I’m sorry. This work is an audience album that contains the performance of “April 26, 2010 Grand Cube Osaka” from Gary Moore’s performance in 2010. It was a Japan tour that was full of commemorative events such as “the first time in 21 years,” “the last time before death,” and “the only blues visit to Japan,” but there was something different about the motivation of tapers all over the country, and a large number of terrifyingly high-quality recordings were left behind. April 22nd: Tokyo SHIBUYA-AX “NOBODY ELSE BUT YOU” April 23rd: Zepp Nagoya “LET ME WITH THE BLUES”, “LORD OF THE STRINGS” April 26th: Grand Cube Osaka April 27th: Tokyo JCB Hall “LET ME WITH THE BLUES”, “FAREWELL NOTE” April 28th: Tokyo International Forum “THE LAST CONCERT IN JAPAN”, “TOKYO 2010 FINAL NIGHT” In this way, four performances have been released on CD, and three of them have two super recordings that are difficult to choose between. You get the idea, don’t you? Yes, the only performance that did not have a suitable sound source for the press was the one on April 26th at Grand Cube Osaka. It is frustrating that only one performance cannot be preserved forever, as it is a monumental tour in every sense. However, because it is a monument, we cannot leave it forever with a compromised sound. Of course, several masters of the Osaka performances were received, but when compared to other super-sounding performances, they were inevitably inferior to listen to… This situation continued for five years. That is the meaning of “Finally!” at the beginning. The person who recorded this work is the familiar West Japan’s strongest taper. He knows the sweet spots of the West Japan live venues well and has a reputation for his thick guitar sound, so this time it was recorded with an excellent sound. Why, why didn’t you release it sooner? Apparently, he was not confident in front of the super quality of the Tokyo and Nagoya performances that appeared one after another, but that is too humble. There is no difference at all when listening to other performances side by side. All instruments and vocals are recorded in ideal balance, and the bass, which tends to be crushed even in audience recordings, is beautiful. It is certainly difficult to say that “this work is the number one of all performances and all recordings,” but it is a sound that could be a strong candidate. Is this the “pride of the top taper” to be humbled by this sound? The main live performance has the same set list as the other shows, but it is Gary Moore, the “demon of improvisation”. Moreover, the songs are in blues form, which gives you plenty of space to play them freely, so each performance has a completely different flavor. If you have listened to the four performances released so far, you will know that yesterday, a song that cried with a long tone will cry with delicate machine gun picking today. Such moments continue endlessly, and it is a guitar paradise throughout. To be honest, in 2010, I had a strange feeling about coming to Japan in blues style because I love “Hard Rockin’ Gary” so much. However, when I witnessed the stage where he played freely and cried beyond the hard rock style, I selfishly thought, “Why didn’t he come to show me live blues earlier?” That shock and emotion are revived by the realism of the audience recording… To repeat, the 2010 Japan tour was the first in 21 years, the last in his lifetime, and the only visit to Japan for blues. However, for Gary himself, it was more than that. After this performance in Japan, he performed in Korea once, then disbanded the band. He teamed up with Neil Carter again and returned to the world of hard rock. In other words, it was also a “culmination of blues” live performance that dedicated the 20 years since 1990. The 5 days of the 2010 Japan tour, which was special in Gary’s entire life. This work completes the last piece of that. Of course, it would be best if you could complete all the days, but if you are listening for the first time, you can choose the International Forum to be particular about the “last in Japan”, or you can commemorate the live performance you went to. However, after listening to it, you will want to listen to other performances. That’s how much of a tour it was that gave us plenty of “rich and free Gary Moore” in all the live performances.
