Description

The much talked about “Marco Moir” collection is releasing a series of hidden treasures and masterpieces! The Gary Moore edition is here. Recorded in this work is the “May 28, 1984 San Diego performance.” It’s the finest audience recording. 1984 was the time of the masterpiece “VICTIMS OF THE FUTURE,” featuring Neil Carter. The audience’s two-performance set “SAN FRANCISCO 1984” was very well received the other day, but of course this work is a separate performance. To understand the situation, let’s start with an overview of the activities at the time. 1984 January 16th – February 17th: UK #1 (13 shows) ← ※ CHIPPENHAM 1984 (January 30th “VICTIMS OF THE FUTURE” released) February 24th – 29th: Japan (5 shows) ← ※ PRAY FOR VICTIMS etc. March 10th – 30th: Europe #1 (17 shows) ← ※ LUND 1984 (Ian Paice replaced by Bobby Chounard) May 8th – July 7th: North America (39 shows) ← ★ Coco ★ (Chouunard replaced by Paul Thompson) August 15th – September 2nd: Europe #2 (6 shows) ← ※ MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984 (November “Out In The Fields production》《Craig Gruber replaced Bob Daisley》 ・December 12th-20th: UK #2 (5 shows) ←※EMERALD AISLES This is Gary Moore in 1984. The San Diego performance in this work was part of the “North American” leg. This leg was also special in Gary’s life. Most of his large-scale US tours were during his time with Thin Lizzy, and as a solo artist, he focused on Europe. (Although he is generally thought of as having hits in the US with his blues-oriented music, in fact, he only played two US concerts during his blues days. In reality, his activities were even more European-oriented than his heavy metal days.) The 1984 “North American” leg was also the largest US tour of Gary’s solo career. Now, let’s focus more on these historic tour dates. Details of the “North American” tour: May 8th-18th (8 performances) * May 24th “SAN FRANCISCO 1984 (DISC 1)” * May 25th: San Francisco performance * May 26th “SAN FRANCISCO 1984 (DISC 2)” * May 28th: San Diego performance ←★This work★ * May 29th-July 7th (27 performances) … and so on. This work, vacuum-packed from the scene immediately after “SAN FRANCISCO 1984,” is also a new addition to the “Marco Moir” collection, which has shocked the collector world. The first generation master recording itself was released about 10 years ago, but this time the original cassette, which had been treasured by the recording company, has been newly unearthed. The sound is truly top-notch. While the timbre isn’t quite what you’d mistake for a soundboard, the powerful thrust of the core is superb, penetrating the space with a crisp, tight outline down to every single grain of machine gun picking. While the feel is similar to “SAN FRANCISCO 1984,” the clarity and vividness of this work are several levels above. While the flavor was apparent in the previous 1st Gen Master, this work also boasts the freshness unique to the original master. There’s no sign of the distortion or dropouts of the previous releases, the machine gun picking is perfectly aligned, and the long choking is unsettled. The soulful vibrato is velvety smooth, melting both the ears and the heart. This superb master sound depicts a scorching stage that condenses the potential of the peak era. The set is essentially the same as “SAN FRANCISCO 1984,” but since there aren’t many opportunities to introduce it, let’s repost it here. “Fire” (4 songs): Shapes of Things, Murder in the Skies, Victims of the Future, Empty Rooms, and others (4 songs): G-FORCE: White Knuckles (★); Ambition: Don’t Take Me For A Loser (★); End of the World, Rockin’ Every Night. *Note: * indicates songs exclusive to this tour. Like “SAN FRANCISCO 1984,” this is a short set, opening for “RUSH,” but in that limited time, it’s a scorching performance that slams the band’s ambitions into American invasion. It’s a full-speed sprint that runs through the entire show without tiring. Gary Moore’s 1984 US tour was the hottest and most ambitious of his life. This 100% authentic live album lets you experience that scorching live performance with superb sound. This is a superb audience recording of the “May 28, 1984 San Diego performance.” This master recording, unearthed from the much-talked-about “Marco Moir” collection, delivers a powerful, driving force, with every single grain of machine-gun picking remaining crisp and precise. The recording exhibits none of the distortion or dropouts of previous recordings, and even long choking is smooth and unimpeded, with a soulful vibrato road. Experience the 1984 US tour, the most passionate and ambitious of Gary Moore’s career, in person with master sound. Sports Arena, San Diego, CA, USA 28th May 1984 PERFECT SOUND (44:45) 1.
