Description
“LORD OF THE STRINGS”, which was recorded in full on the second day of the tour on April 23rd in Nagoya, using the original DAT master provided by the recorder directly from Gary’s first performance in 21 years in Japan in 2010, has been supported as a supreme work recognized by enthusiasts since its appearance last year. The feature of this recording is the deep sound that makes use of the acoustics of the venue, and Gary’s guitar can be enjoyed with a very attractive tone. Not to mention the visibility and clarity, it is the same quality as the scene where you want to give three super. And yet, the best listening ease where the cheers of the audience do not interrupt the performance at all is wonderful and difficult to compare with the take recorded in “LEFT ME WITH THE BLUES”. The opening “Oh Pretty Woman” is so good that you might mistake it for a sound board sound source depending on the scene. On the first day, he was probably still tired from the flight to Japan, but at this Nagoya performance, there was no mistake or roughness heard on the first day, and the audience was able to fully appreciate the depth of “Bluesman Gary Moore”. Shibuya AX, where “NOBODY ELSE BUT YOU” was held on the first day, is a venue where metal bands also perform live, and the direct and rock-like sound image was enjoyed accordingly (Gary’s solo performance was reminiscent of the hard rock era, so this was ultimately the right venue choice). In contrast, the sound image of this sound source has a moderate sound spatiality and a perfect separation of each instrument part, and the well-organized sound that makes you think it could be used by a jazz band is attractive. The high range, which is completely unaltered and natural and clear, is particularly wonderful, and the drums in “Down The Line” and “Since I Met You Baby” are reproduced with a strong presence, even to the cymbals and hi-hats. Of course, the guitar sound is also overwhelming, and the thick mid-low range is a must-listen (especially after “Since I Met You Baby” it’s really amazing)! The 17-minute “Have You Heard” is so powerful and has such a great sound that you’ll want to say, “This is slow blues!” “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” from the new album is a cover of Al Cooper, but it is dyed with a tone and sound as if it was Gary’s song from the beginning, and the “suppressed tears” shake the listener’s emotions even more. In contrast, “Too Tired” has a bright mood, and the exchange part where the guitar and bass sound loud is also fun to enjoy. The sound and performance of “Still Got The Blues” recorded in this recording is one of the best takes of Japan (if it surpasses this, it will be the take on the same day of “LEFT ME WITH THE BLUES”). The solo in the latter half makes you think, “I wish this was an official record.” Following the excitement and realism of “Walking By Myself” and “The Blues Is Alright” that involved the audience as on the first day, the climax of the live performance, “Parisienne Walkways”, will bring the listeners to tears. The melody of “Black Rose” featured in the intro, the ending with the Irish melody heard in the hard rock live after the summer of the same year, the 13-minute performance is a masterpiece that is packed with Gary’s charm in every scene. If you are a fan, you must listen to the original recording of “Parisienne Walkways”! On the first day, the rock elements were strong, but on the second day, the performance with his feet on the ground showed his true potential as a bluesman, and you can enjoy the splendor that only Gary can offer. If you are a fan who has a strong attachment to the Nagoya performance, you should not be satisfied with just the 6-disc “LEFT ME WITH THE BLUES”. We hope you will enjoy this work, which is another superb sound quality board! Live at Zepp Nagoya, Aichi, Japan 23rd April 2010 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 1. Opening 2.
