In 2020, Fred Hersch demonstrated his continued vitality with the release of his moving solo album “Songs From Home,” recorded at home during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. This newly released album is a special live performance streamed online, recorded without an audience at the Village Vanguard, a venue in New York City considered a “jazz mecca.” Like the album, this live performance features cover songs, including Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman,” Joni Mitchell’s “All I Want,” and “‘Round Midnight,” which is not included on the album, making it a must-listen.
