Description

FOREIGNER in the early 1980s was a four-piece band whose songs “4” and “AGENT PROVOCATEUR” were big hits. The super best pro shot is now available. This work includes appearances at two festivals representing West Germany. This is a multi-camera pro shot that mainly features “December 19, 1981: ROCK POP” from the “4” era, with a bonus of “May 26, 1985: ROCK AM RING” by “AGENT PROVOCATEUR”. Both are classic professional shots that have been known for a long time, but this work is the pinnacle of them. This is a DVD version of the Japanese special program “Western Music Live Legend” that was aired on a certain satellite broadcasting station in 2013. In fact, the quality of this work is super beautiful and completely official grade. After all, 2013 is a time when even terrestrial broadcasting has been completely digitalized, and there is no deterioration in both broadcasting and recording. The picture quality and sound quality are completely master quality, and there is no noise at all. That is the transcendental visual beauty that even laser disc recording cannot match. Moreover, the unique production of the program is also delicious. At the beginning, a familiar half-Japanese narrator with a dandy voice serves as the navigation, giving a brief history of FOREIGNER and an overview of the show. Furthermore, during the show, the program’s own Japanese subtitles are provided, and the various MCs spoken by young Lou Gramm and Mick Jones are perfectly conveyed. What is depicted in such perfect quality is a performance at its peak, which did not lose its popularity after a bold member change, but reached its peak all at once. The main “ROCK POP” has 10 songs, and “ROCK AM RING” has 4 songs, which is pretty big, but let’s organize the set by combining the two videos. Six-person era numbers (6 songs, 7 takes)・FOREIGNER: Long, Long Way from Home/Cold As Ice/Feels Like The First Time/Starrider・DOUBLE VISION: Hot Blooded (2 takes)・HEAD GAMES: Dirty White Boy 4 Human era number (6 songs, 7 takes) ・4: Luanne / Waiting For A Girl Like You / Urgent / Jukebox Hero (2 takes) ・AGENT PROVOCATEUR: I Want To Know What Love Is / Reaction To Action … and this It looks like this. Of course, the only “AGENT PROVOCATEUR” number is “ROCK AM RING”, and together with “Hot Blooded” and “Jukebox Hero”, which are duplicated in the two videos, there are a total of 4 songs. Everything else is mainly “ROCK POP”. As you can see, this is almost “the best album to watch with your eyes.” A total of 12 songs are all singles, making it a special greatest hits list, and although “Luanne” and “Reaction To Action”, which were only performed in the 1980s, are rare, they still made it into the US charts. Overall, more than half of them are in the top 10, which is great. The performance that spells out such a hit parade is also overwhelming. In particular, the main song “ROCK POP” is extremely fresh. The band’s potential was at its fullest as they continued to produce masterpieces. Mick Jones, who was 36 years old at the time, was full of energy as he felt the wind of great success after winning a big bet, and Lou Gramm, who was 31 years old, also became a singer. A wonderful singing voice with a lot of fat. In the close-up, he belts out his passionate singing with uncontrollable energy, and in the ballad, he shows off his full-bodied vocalization. Although it is completely refined, it does not feel out of place at all with the thick ensemble that also supports the number from the six-member era. And the greatness of “ROCK AM RING”, whose success has permeated throughout their bodies, is also amazing. It is still one of the most representative festivals in Germany, but the year 1985 of this work is actually the first to be held. They performed magnificently in front of a large audience that filled the special outdoor venue, and even made an appearance in the chorus, which numbered several dozen people. Speaking of the wonders of the gospel style “I Want To Know What Love Is”… This is a Japanese broadcast where you can witness FOREIGNER at its peak for about 78 minutes with the classic professional shot in the highest quality. It is a masterpiece that is equal to or better than “4” and “AGENT PROVOCATEUR”. Even though I love FOREIGNER, it’s impossible not to have seen this work. One of the pinnacles that stands on such a horizon.
