Description
The new FLEETWOOD MAC’s latest tour “AN EVENING WITH FLEETWOOD MAC” has finally been completed. A live album that conveys the final version is now available. This work includes “Boston performance on October 28, 2019”. It is a superb audience recording that captures the whole story. “AN EVENING WITH FLEETWOOD MAC” was the first world tour in three years, but Lindsey Buckingham was fired before it started. It was also the unveiling of a new lineup that welcomed Mike Campbell, former guitarist of Tom Petty & THE HEARTBREAKERS, and Neil Finn of CROWDED HOUSE. The final day just ended the other day. First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule. ●2018, October 3rd – December 15th: North America #1 (31 performances) ●2019, January 31st – March 31st: North America #2 (25 performances), June 6th – 18th : Europe (6 performances) August 9th – September 21st: Oceania (18 performances) October 28th – November 16th: North America #3 (8 performances) ←★Here★ This is the latest tour “AN EVENING Overall picture of “WITH FLEETWOOD MAC”. Initially it was limited to North America, but later expanded to Europe and Oceania. The Boston performance of this work was a concert on the first day of “North America #3”, which returned again. This work that recorded such a show is truly an exquisite audience recording. Anyway, clear and direct. In fact, there are audience members shouting near the recorder, so they won’t mistake it for a sound board, but it’s likely to mistake the performance sound for the singing voice. I only know that the recording position was “arena seats”, but it was probably right next to the PA. The extra-thick core is like a sound board, and you can hardly feel any hall noise, and the details are super clear. Moreover, even though there were 11 people on stage, each person’s notes overlapped and did not blend together. Of course, even the aforementioned guests could not compete with the extremely loud performance sound. You can fully enjoy the listening response of a sound board level. Even more surprising is the three-dimensional feel. The three-dimensional effect of the intertwined ensembles is vivid, and the three-dimensional effect of the venue is also wonderful. Big hit songs often involve vast choruses, but not only does the thick core not lose, but it doesn’t get in the way at all. The balance was such that the sound from the PA was picked up directly and the loud chorus was heard from the rear seats…I think it was recorded from a considerable number of seats in the front. In any case, if the performance sound is soundboard quality, the spectacle of loud cheers is on par with an official work. On top of that, the naturally occurring large chorus slightly but thickly colors Stevie Nicks’ singing voice, and there is no artificiality like the official work produced by mix processing. It is a rare masterpiece that is full of the natural experience unique to audience recording, but the quality is official level. What is depicted with such a sound is not only the golden greatest hits… but also a full show. It’s roughly the same as the tour from three years ago, but there are a lot of surprising rare songs. First, let’s organize the contents. ●THE WHITE ALBUM (4 songs)・Say You Love Me/Rhiannon/World Turning/Landslide ●RUMOURS (7 songs)・The Chain/Dreams/Second Hand News/You Make Loving Fun/Gold Dust Woman/Go Your Own Way/ Don’t Stop ●MIRAGE (2 songs)・Gypsy/Hold Me ●TANGO IN THE NIGHT (2 songs)・Little Lies/Everywhere ●Others (6 songs)・60s: Black Magic Woman/Oh Well/Man of the World・Cover: I Got You (SPLIT ENZ) / Don’t Dream It’s Over (CROWDED HOUSE) / Free Fallin’ (Tom Petty)… and so on. While listing big hit songs from “THE WHITE ALBUM” to “TANGO IN THE NIGHT,” there are also early repertoire and covers from the 1960s. “Free Fallin'” was Mike Campbell’s repertoire, “I Got You” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over” were Neil Finn’s repertoire, and Stevie Nicks persuaded them that they should do it, so they entered the set. Of course, there were some surprising selections from FLEETWOOD MAC, including “Hold Me” for the first time in 36 years and “Black Magic Woman” for the first time in 44 years. The highlight is “Man of the World,” which is a revival song for the first time in 50 years. Initially, “AN EVENING WITH FLEETWOOD MAC” was mentioned as a farewell tour, but perhaps satisfied with the ensemble with the new members, they also started talking about their desire for a new work.
