Description
The 1975 live rehearsal sound source, which is especially noteworthy among FLEETWOOD MAC’s collector’s items, has been released in response to fans’ expectations! Immediately after the release of the band’s masterpiece “FLEETWOOD MAC”, this definitive sound source records the band’s performance, which is about to enter its golden age, for 66 minutes on an official stereo soundboard. For all rock enthusiasts, this is a must-see! After the 1974 American tour, FLEETWOOD MAC reached a major turning point. Bob Welch left the group immediately after moving his base of activities to Los Angeles and trying to make a fresh start. Even during the so-called “four years of misfortune,” this event was a critical incident that affected the survival of the band. However, when Mick Fleetwood and John McVie found out about the American duo Buckingham Nicks, the band opened the door to a new era. The band was looking for a guitarist and initially approached only Lindsey Buckingham, but when Lindsey joined the band, he suggested that Stevie Nicks accompany him. Mick and others decided to welcome both of them, and in January 1975, Lindsay and Nicks all joined the band. Here, FLEETWOOD MAC has restarted as a group of 3 men and 2 women. After that, “FLEETWOOD MAC” released in July 1975 was blessed with many hit songs, and the album reached number 1 on Billboard. The band, which until then had been perceived as a mid-sized band, suddenly became a big hit in the United States. In this work, the rehearsal (run-through) held at Trod Nossel Studios in Wallingford, Connecticut on September 23, 1975, just before the tour accompanying “FLEETWOD MAC”, is recorded in official ultra-high quality stereo. Recorded using soundboard recording. Several types of this rehearsal sound source existed in the past. However, “LIVE REHEARSALS 1975”, which appeared in 2010, is mastered using analog reel-to-reel tape, and includes songs that were not recorded in past items. The contents and the splendor of the sound quality astounded all fans. This time, based on the same master as “LIVE REHEARSALS 1975”, the low pitch in the first half that was noticed there was corrected, and the sound was further refined and made into a press CD. The noise found in songs such as “Green Manalishi” is also completely removed. It has literally been reborn as a permanent item! The first song on the disc, “Get Like You Used To Be,” will leave the listener stunned by the wonderful sound of the piano and guitar. While playing the piano, Christine McVie lets you listen to her gorgeous vocals. The subsequent songs also have a pleasant guitar tone and rough sound image in a good way, all of which have an exquisite taste. Of course Mick and John’s groovy rhythm is the best word. This is filled with the raw and warm sound typical of FLEETWOOD MAC on the eve of their breakout. Christine was in charge of the MC between songs. In the songs she introduces as “new releases” such as “Rhiannon” and “Landslide,” Stevie Nicks’s moist and punchy singing voice captivates the listener. The harmony between Christine and Stevie and the band’s ensemble that can be heard on the smash hit “Over My Head” is truly delicious. “The Green Manalishi”, also known as JUDAS PRIEST’s number, lets you enjoy the original depth and flavor of this song. Of course, the impression is a little different from Peter Green’s performance at the time, but Lindsey Buckingham’s version is no less enjoyable to listen to. Even people who usually listen to metal may find this to be interesting. There’s plenty to listen to, from the powerful rocking “World Turning” to the lighthearted “Blue Letter” to the closing song “Hypnotized.” 66 minutes go by in the blink of an eye! Although the individuality is different from Peter Green’s era, which was deeply rooted in blues, and Bob Welch’s tenure, which strengthened elements of jazz rock and pop, the music you can hear here is the golden age of FLEETWOOD MAC! Please enjoy the moment when a new band was born, leading up to 1977’s “RUMOURS”, which remains in rock history, with official quality sound. Trod Nossel Studios, Wallingford, CT.
