A high-quality stereo audience recording of a live performance by the American garage/pub rock/power pop band The Flamin’ Groovies in California in 1979! This high-quality stereo audience recording was recorded at a nightclub in Santa Cruz, California on September 12, 1979, from the tour when Chris Wilson released his last album “JUMPING IN THE NIGHT” before leaving the band! The sound was transferred digitally directly from the master cassette, and the sound quality was excellent for the time, with a wide range and depth of stereo sound. Each part, including the chorus work, is well-balanced, and the low bass caused by the master has been remastered to create a well-balanced sound quality that is not out of place. They signed with Sire in 1976 and released the Dave Edmonds-produced “Shake Some Action” and “The Flamin’ Grooves Now!” in 1978. However, the last album released was “Jumping in the Night” in 1979, and vocalist and guitarist Chris Wilson left the band in 1981, so this is their last album with Chris in the band. This is a valuable live recording from the release of “Jumping in the Night”. The set list included a cover of The Beatles’ “Please Please Me” and three songs from the new album at the time.
