Description
This full-length recording of the final show in Concord, California, on May 26th, the second day of their final North American tour following the release of their second album, “Mean Business,” in 1986, is available from the original audience master recordings of Marco Mohr, a legendary California taper who was active around the same time as Mike Millard from the mid-’80s to early ’90s. Recorded from an original master recording owned by this legendary California taper, who was active around the same time as Mike Millard, this recording has never been traded before. Recently, a renowned collector has made it public, bringing these precious live recordings back to life on high-quality tape. The quality is almost on par with the Millard tapes, faithfully recreating the incredible excitement of the venue. Compared to the tour following the release of their first album, “The Firm,” the improvisational aspects are significantly more substantial. Highlights include “Closer,” with its striking guitar solo right from the start; “Prelude,” featuring dramatic keyboards by Tony, and the flow from “Money Can’t Buy” to “Live In Peace,” featuring Paul’s soulful vocals. Also notable are the bass solos from “Purple Haze” and “The Chase,” featuring Tony’s fretless bass roar, and Page’s solo, featuring his familiar ZEP violin bow.
