Description
High-quality audience recording of the Santa Monica performance on October 30, 1970. This is a must-listen for fans, made directly from the TMOQ original record “PLYNTH”. “SANTA MONICA 1970” is the master tape of this TMOQ edition “PLYNTH”. As expected, the quality and freshness of the sound is a step behind, but since it was originally recorded in high quality, there is no problem with normal listening. Because it is a monaural recording master, the sound does not feel spacious, but the sound quality itself is clear and very good. Because it was dropped from a master disc in good condition, it is a very excellent piece with almost no scratch noise problems. There is almost no hiss noise. As I wrote in the explanation of Santa Monica 1970, the LP version includes the first half of the unrecorded show, which starts with the opening announcement “Small Faces!”. Although there is some roughness typical of analog and partial dubbing deterioration, the closeness and directness of this sound is overwhelming, and it can be said to be the best recording of this era. Hopefully, following the second half of this show, it would be wonderful if the original sound source of the first half is discovered, but if you are just enjoying it normally, even though it is a digest of the show, I would like to listen to the super high quality take of this LP. (It’s a shame that It’s All Over Now ends with a fadeout due to recording time). Please enjoy the 1970 Santa Monica performance recorded by TMOQ’s Taper with the best take of the nostalgic analog version. It’s amazing how good the sound is for a pirated disc from this era! Everyone should be amazed. Civic Center, Santa Monica, California, USA 30th October 1970 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND Taken from the original TMOQ LP (SF 506 A/B)(49:18) 1.
