Description
Eric Clapton’s 21st Japan tour has finally begun. The stereo audience source of the first day is now available! You can already hear the sound of the performance that just took place last week. Nothing could be more wonderful than this. Moreover, the recording position is the front row of Budokan Arena B4 block, which is a good condition, and the entire recording is recorded with a very beautiful sound. I can definitely say that the sound quality is far above average level. This band, made up mostly of British session musicians, has been leading the band since the “Baloise Sessions” in Switzerland in November 2013, but it has been a long time since these members have appeared here in Japan. Guitarist Andy Fairweather Rowe came to Japan for the first time in 2003, bassist Dave Bronze since 1995, and drummer Henry Spinetti for the first time since 1979, when “JUST ONE NIGHT” was recorded. . Also participating was multi-instrumentalist Dirk Powell, who plays accordion, mandolin, and fiddle. One of the special features of this stage was that his participation gave the songs a more pastoral feel. With the support of these talented performers on stage, there was no tension on the first day, and the performance could be described as the pinnacle of Ibushi Gin’s maturity. The setlist was generally in line with the trends of the past few years and was not flashy, but there were solid performances without any mistones or misplays. Surprisingly, it was the first time that the opening song, Somebody Knockin’, was played in Japan. The highlight was the mid-way acoustic set where they performed three new songs from their new studio album scheduled to be released next month. Moreover, on this day, Ed Sheeran, a young British artist who had come to Japan on a private trip, jumped into the acoustic set and performed with Clapton on three songs. When many fans hear that “Sheeran will co-star in a new song,” they may wonder, “Is that possible all of a sudden? Did they rehearse it beforehand?” Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 13th April 2016 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (59:12) 1. Somebody’s Knockin’ 2. Key To The Highway 3.
