Description
We would like to introduce the original master of the 1979 Tokyo performance. First of all, I would like to say that the sound quality is the best of the December 4th performance. Clapton’s Tokyo performance in the same year is well known as the official live album “Just One Night”, but as a result of verifying the audience sources from both days that were discovered later, the official edition included the sound source of the December 4th performance. It has been found that only three songs, Tulsa Time, Early In The Moring, and After Midnight, are recorded as the main one and contain the sound source of the 3-day performance the previous day. This master of the original cassette, which we independently obtained, can be determined from the set list to be from December 4th, but because a 90-minute tape was used, the recorder was concerned about the remaining tape capacity. Perhaps it was because he recorded it while recording, or because he wanted to record only the songs he liked, but in any case, it is a source that has many cuts due to stopping recording in the middle of the song. However, the sound quality itself is clear and easy to listen to, far exceeding that of the previously released version, and you can listen to the full version of Tulsa Time, which was replaced with the official version. It can be said that it is a very valuable master that the famous song Layla that was not available is fully recorded. In addition to these two songs, the full version includes Lay Down Sally, If I Don’t Be There By Morning, All Our Past Times, Blues Power, Double Trouble, and Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door (however, there are some There are 10 songs (with some omissions due to tape changes), Cocaine, and Further On Up The Road, and other songs were cut in the middle. At the beginning, there is a valuable scene in which the staff of Udo Music Office introduces Clapton’s manager, Roger Forester, and Mr. Forester calls Clapton. For enthusiasts, it is noteworthy that you can listen to the two songs mentioned above with the highest sound quality ever, and above all, Layla on this day is played much more passionately than the previous day’s take, so this is It can be said that it is a very valuable master just by listening to it. Also, while most of the songs are the same take as the official version, you can enjoy listening to the tuning between songs, the band’s sound production scene, the excitement including the audience’s voice, etc. that cannot be heard on the official version. The excellent master of the December 3rd performance has been released one after another in the CD era, but the audience master of the 4th performance is the highest ever. Please take this opportunity to obtain this disc, which includes two fantastic songs, as the 1979 Tokyo performance is highly rated in Clapton’s career.
