Description

Even though there are countless “Clapton in Japan” performances, the only Shizuoka performance in history is now available on a permanently preserved 2CD. This work includes the “October 29, 1975 Shizuoka Sunpu Hall (very unusual venue) performance” from the second Japan tour. There are many previous releases, but they are completely recorded with our store’s unique best audience master. Only one recording of this Shizuoka performance exists, but this work uses a cassette that was dubbed directly from the main master. It has been left in a completely different route from the many previously released records, and it is a recording that conveys the most excellent sound to the present day. In fact, compared to the previously released titles, the cheers before and after the performance are recorded longer, and conversely, the cheers before the encore are recorded shorter. It is clear that the routes are different from this, but what is even more different is the essential sound. It is recorded with a much more natural sound quality than the previously released version, which amplified the mid-bass and treble, and there are fewer points where the sound drops momentarily on one channel, which previously occurred in several places. It is clear that he is a master who greatly exceeds many previous releases. In this way, the very existence of this work is precious, but the true value of its “preciousness” lies in the music packed inside. No matter what you say, “So Many Roads” is amazing. It is a representative song of Otis Rush’s late stage, which Clapton adores, and he plays a super masterpiece that seems to be a collection of the best of guitar blues. Moreover, this Shizuoka performance is the only record of Clapton’s live performance (there is a high possibility that he only played on this day). Of course, it’s not just “So Many Roads.” Other songs include the opening song “Layla” which is laid back but played on a grand scale, the famous song “Little Wing” which is played on the same scale, and the rare medley “Eyesight To The Blind / Carnival” etc., it is a famous live performance that has many layers of “listening response” added to “precious”. Clapton’s passionate 1975 Japan tour when he was 30 years old. The Shizuoka performance is full of “special” shine not only in this year but also in Clapton’s entire career. This work is a live album that is the highest peak record. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who scolded me, saying, “Why don’t you press this recording?” Live at Sunpu Kaikan, Shizuoka, Japan 29th October 1975 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1(41:03) 1.
