Description

From the North American tour in September and October 1988, which was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his debut, the performance in Auburn Hills, Michigan on September 16th was recorded almost completely from a good audience master that was recently excavated. This is a rare recording that has not been released until now, and this tour, which Mark Knopfler and keyboardist Alan Clark participated in, is a best-hit live performance that is worthy of the 25th anniversary, condensing his career, from Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos, to his solo activities. Also, the performance on this day was excellent EC, from solos to obbligatos and backing play, and in “Same Old Blues”, a rare heated interplay between Clapton’s guitar and Nathan East’s bass was also shown. Mark Knopfler’s excellent support is also outstanding, and he brilliantly improves the quality of the songs in the middle and final parts of the album, including “Crossroads,” “White Room,” “I Shot The Sheriff,” “Wonderful Tonight,” “Tearing Us Apart,” and “After Midnight,” leading up to Clapton’s solo in the middle and final parts. And of course, “Money For Nothing” is also included, making this a perfect collector’s edition for fans. DISC 1 : 01. Crossroads/02. White Room/03. I Shot The Sheriff/04. Lay Down Sally/05.
