Description

This 1 hour and 48 minute video captures the seventh performance of the May 25th concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a regular part of the band’s 2009 short UK tour. Shot from the second floor stands in front of the stage, this footage is clear and includes some blurry scenes and glimpses of the audience. The footage is largely free of obstacles in front of the stage, and extensive use of zoom ensures a stable, reconstructed image of the night. The band also embarked on an 11-date Japan tour in February of the same year, including a highly anticipated two-day joint performance with Jeff Beck at Saitama Super Arena. The setlist is significantly different from the original, with Steve Gadd also playing on drums. The set list in particular surprised fans with the opening number “Going Down Slow,” as well as “Anything For Your Love,” a first since 1992, Big Maceo’s blues number “Anytime For You,” and the rare mid-show performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” an encore number from the 2003 tour. The set was completely different from the Japan performance three months earlier, making it a must-see for fans, with a total of 1 hour and 55 minutes.
