Description
Eric Clapton is counting down to his first performance in Japan in three years. Introducing a transcendent stereo sound board album that brings back his memories of 20 years ago. This work also includes performances in Japan. This is a performance at Yokohama Arena on November 24, 1999, which was held in conjunction with the release of the album “PILGRIM”. First of all, in order to dig up the memory of 20 years ago, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show. ・November 9th: Nippon Budokan ・November 11th: Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium ・November 13th: Marine Messe Fukuoka ・November 15th-17th: Osaka Castle Hall (3 performances) ・November 19th-22nd : Nippon Budokan (3 performances) ・November 24th: Yokohama Arena [This work] ・November 26th-30th: Nippon Budokan (4 performances) This Yokohama performance is also a symbol of their arrival in Japan in 1999. On the day of the event, a camera from a certain broadcasting company was on board and the event was broadcast on a satellite channel. The professional shot footage has become a staple. This work is also the stereo sound board audio of that TV broadcast. You may be wondering why now…but the reason is quality. This is an extraordinary, super-excellent sound. This broadcast is even on the market as a half-official DVD, and I’ve watched and listened to it over and over until I get tired of it…I’m sure, but I’ve never heard this quality. The beauty of the sound, the noiseless luster, the vividness of the details, and the feel of the material. Everything is different from the already released or half official. The sound is amazing from the beginning. The applause that erupts at Clapton’s appearance, and the arpeggios playing… From here on, the three-dimensional feeling is completely different. In previous DVDs and CDs with dropped sounds, it feels like the applause and the guitar are stuck to a flat plate, but in this work, each note rises, spreads, and disappears, giving it a three-dimensional feel. It’s even more amazing when a band comes in. If it’s easy to understand, it’s probably a snare drum. In the previous release, the band sound is all on the flat plate, so the details are crushed, and if the peak of the hitting sound is also clogged, the super weak sound that disappears is crushed and cannot be heard. On the other hand, in this work, everything remains beautifully, and it feels beautiful until the moment it disappears into thin air. What’s more surprising is that it’s a non-remaster. There is no digital processing at all, and the natural feel of that time dominates the whole story. Of course, the previous releases were more than official grade. However, this work is more than that. Is it okay to describe it as “official masterpiece sound”? The more I listened to it through headphones, the more I began to wonder if it was really the same broadcast because of the difference. There is a reason why it has such a transcendent sound. In fact, the master of this work was obtained through a special route. This is the same route as SADE’s shocking work “PROMISE IN TOKYO”, JOURNEY’s “BUDOKAN 2013”, and Jeff Beck’s “DEFINITIVE TOKYO 1999”. In other words, it was brought at the same time as Clapton’s “BUDOKAN 2009 5TH NIGHT”. What arrived was a professional shot video master, and at first I was surprised by how beautiful the video was, but the audio was even more amazing. In order for you to experience its true awesomeness, we decided to release it on CD as a live album without footage. Anyway, why are the same broadcasts so different? Although there are some mysteries in the method and logic, the sound is still here as evidence. Moreover, he continues to prove it with SADE, JOURNEY, and Jeff Beck… If you have experienced even one of the albums mentioned above, you will realize that this is no exaggeration. This is the latest work of such a special route transcendental sound board. In fact, it is an abnormal disc that stands at the top level even in the “official grade” rank. A world of beauty where you will literally stop breathing before you know it. Live at Yokohama Arena, Yokohama, Japan 24th November 1999 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) Disc 1(63:32) 1. My Father’s Eyes 2.
