Description
A new sound source title from the person who recorded the super high quality titles “DEFINITION OF LEGACY”, “GOLD FLAVOR”, “JOURNEY OF FAITH”, and “PRINCIPLE OF GOD” from the 1990 Japan tour! ! The definitive version of the final Yokohama performance of the 1990 tour is now available! ! Eric Clapton’s 1990 “Journeyman Japan Tour”, which is still highly regarded in his career, is a complete recording of the Yokohama Arena performance on December 11th, the final day, with the finest stereo audience recording. This is the main version. This day’s sound source includes “JOURNEY’S END” and other previously released editions, but this edition uses a completely unreleased original master that our store independently discovered. . Moreover, this master can be said to be the best balanced sound quality with very clear sound pressure that exceeds all previously released records. This tour’s drummer, Steve Ferrone (pronounced “Feloni” by Clapton), has faithfully recorded the characteristic “basha” sound of the snare, and at the venue that day, this is exactly the band sound. It is a realistic sound image that can be said to be heard. If you listen to the sound of the five consecutive snare hits in the opening pretending intro, which was blurred on all previous releases, it will be obvious. It can be said that it is miraculous that there are no recording problems, no omissions due to tape changes, and no harsh audience noise. This amazing master, which has not been released for 22 years, will definitely reign at the top of the sound source of this day. This performance was not only the last day of the Japan tour, but also the finale of the “Journeyman Tour” that started in January. They have had many ups and downs to get to this point, setting a British box office record with 18 consecutive nights of performances at the RAH, and losing their ally Stevie Ray Vaughan, who they toured with in August, in an unexpected accident. It was a year. Clapton himself seems to have been deeply moved, and after the first song ends, there is a valuable scene in which he calls out the names of the band members, tour staff, and Udo Music Office to express his gratitude. (As if to express that feeling, Cocaine gives the first solo to Phil Palmer and the second solo to Greg Phillinganes, making it a rare take without Clapton’s solo. It’s also fun to see Layla’s phrases sprinkled throughout the solo). Clapton’s playing quality is outstanding on this tour, as it was a performance that he declared to be dedicated to them. It is in the afterglow of I Shot The Sheriff that you can listen to a furious solo that will leave you overwhelmed with emotion. It’s truly amazing, and it’s packed with supreme playing that you can’t hear in Clapton’s music in recent years. There is also an unusual scene where “Fireflies no Hikari” is played as a prelude to Layla, with the new year in mind. It can be said that this was a special service for the Japanese fans, wishing them a safe New Year (in the UK, this song is sung to pray for a happy new year). Although the sound source is already on the market, the final performance of the Journeyman tour is worth listening to again with this superb sound quality. A master of the highest quality, including the MC of “Otsukaresamadeshita!” by Nathan East at the end.
