Description
The concerts in Paris, France, which were held consecutively on May 26th and 27th from the 2024 Euro Tour, are recorded in audio and video. First of all, the audio source is a high-quality audience recording released by Taper on both days, and the recordings made with the latest digital equipment are clear and well-balanced, especially the bass sounds such as drum sounds. The video DVD is a digest of 32 minutes on the first day and 24 minutes on the second day, but it is a selection of the best performances from both days, and the angles of the digital camera are different, one in front of the stand and the other on the right side of the arena, so you can enjoy it from different angles. And while the set list for both days is the same, the charm of this tour is that the set contents have changed quite a bit from previous ones, and here in Paris, it started with this instrumental number titled “Blue Dust”. This is a variation of “Blue Rainbow”, which was first performed at the Japan concert in April of the same year, dedicated to Beck, who passed away the previous year, and it has already become a hot topic because it is a song that has not even been officially recorded yet. The first half of the electric set ended with a new song, “Prayer of a Child,” which was released with new lyrics to the instrumental song that was played at the beginning of the Gaza support charity concert in December of the previous year. In the acoustic set, they performed “Golden Ring” from “BACKLESS” in an acoustic arrangement, and on the second day of “Tears In Heaven,” Clapton shouted “David Sanborn!” while playing the intro, paying tribute to Sanborn, who had passed away two weeks earlier. After returning to electric, they played “Holy Mother” for the first time on this tour, and on the second day of “Crossroads,” it was arranged in a boogie-woogie style, which is also rare. It is surprising that the two biggest hits “Layla” and “Wonderful Tonight” are omitted from this tour, but the fulfilling performances they deliver every day make it feel like no matter what, and this is a must-listen for fans who are looking forward to their next visit to Japan.
