This audio-visual recording captures the band’s performance at the Antibes Jazz Festival in France on July 12th, during a break in their 1986 Euro tour. The CD features top-quality audience recordings, unimaginable for an outdoor venue. In addition to the live performance, it also includes additional soundcheck recordings from the day. The DVD, a digital copy of a rare VHS master recently released by an owner, captures the entire 1 hour and 40 minute recording. While the footage is shot from a distance, the angle is nearly straight-on, with virtually no obstructions. Since this was after the release of “August,” the lineup is a simplified four-piece, including Phil Collins. From the album, the band performs “Wanna Make Love To You,” “Run,” “Miss You,” “Tearing Us Apart,” “Holy Mother,” and “Behind the Mask,” as well as many tracks rarely performed after that. In addition, Clapton’s playing is at the forefront with just one guitar, and the sound is different from Blackie’s dry half-tone sound, which is unique to this period, so it’s a must-have item for fans to check out.
