Description

In 1990, after completing the historic series of RAH performances, the Journeyman Tour traveled around the world, including Europe in February, the United States from April to September, and South America/Japan in October. Ford’s performance is completely recorded with a stereo audience recording of the highest quality sound. Overwhelming guitar play was developed, and among the tours that can be said to be the best of the 90’s, the play in the North American first leg, which took place mainly in April, can be said to be the peak of this year. You can recognize the high quality of the video of the same venue performance the day before this title, which is currently in circulation, but this performance goes even further, and has been selected as one of the best from this tour. I can definitely say it’s a performance. It starts with a play that carefully examines the sustain in the opening song “Pretending”, the first half of “I Shot The Sheriff” breaks the rhythm, and the second half solo plays down, and then “Bad Love” brings it to its peak from the beginning. There are too many to list, such as the play that continues to maintain that vector, and the phrases that increase in intensity as the sound changes from crunch to distortion in “Old Love”, but there is a decisive difference from the previous day. It can be said that it was the day when there was no hesitation between phrases, and the play was developed in which feeling was prioritized over thinking. Regarding the sound quality, we used a tape that was dubbed from the recorder’s own cassette tape to DAT, and there were some parts where only the guitar sound was recorded with a slight distortion (due to the PA sound on the day), and due to tape deterioration. There are some noises (no big deal) in the right channel during the “Opening” tape shake and the “Wonderful Tonight” interlude, but they are enough to capture the historical masterpiece of the day and the exciting atmosphere of the venue. The whole thing is recorded with great sound quality that can be conveyed in two minutes. Live at Civic Center, Hartford, CT.
