Description
This 1983 recording captures the final show of the “Money and Cigarettes” North American tour, specifically the July 16th performance in Denver, Colorado, recorded from the venue’s PA mixer. The recording is a 1.5-hour stereo soundboard master captured from the PA output. Originally recorded from a master cassette leaked by someone involved at the time, the recording is properly mixed and boasts excellent sound quality, including stereo separation, although the encore “Further On Up The Roads” is missing. This US tour, which started with the unusual opening of “I Shot The Sheriff,” initially featured many songs from the album, but these were gradually dropped from the setlist, with only “The Shape You’re In” remaining in this second leg. Other tracks rarely played after this show, such as “Sweet Little Lisa” and Muddy Waters’ “Don’t Say You Don’t Love Me” (included in the blues medley later in the show), are also included, making this a must-listen for fans.
