Description
This nearly complete recording of the April 13th Costa Messa concert, part of the North American tour following the release of 1987’s “August,” spans 1 hour and 51 minutes, captured from the original audience master by Marco Mohr, a legendary California taper active from the mid-’80s to early ’90s, roughly the same time as Mike Millard. Recorded from an original master owned by the legendary California taper, who was active from the mid-’80s to early ’90s, this recording was never traded until recently, when a renowned collector released it, restoring a number of precious live recordings from high-quality tape. The quality of the recordings is almost on par with the Millard tapes. Incidentally, this performance is also a rare recording, making its first appearance in Japan. Moreover, the quality is so incredible that it rivals the line recording of the previous soundboard recording of the first half of this concert, and this title is completely uncut. This year also saw a remarkable live performance, with one-off shows and TV shows across the country, and autumn performances in Australia and Japan. Their performances were generally strong, and even after a blistering start with “Crossroads,” they delivered a razor-sharp performance. The 24-minute-plus “Same Old Blues” and thrilling encores of “Behind the Mask” and “Sunshine of Your Love” were particularly captivating, as the band performed with just the four members. Their simple yet sharp playing was a highlight of the album. Live at Pacific Amphitheater, Costa Mesa, CA, USA 13th April 1987 Disc 1 : 1. Intro. 2. Crossroads 3. White Room 4. I Shot the Sheriff 5.
