This edition is a complete recording of the Brussels, Belgium performance on June 13, 1977 from the European tour in support of the album “NO REASON TO CRY” released in 1976 with a wonderful stereo audience recording. The sound source has been famous among tape traders for a long time, but since the Low Gene Master was discovered in the 2000s, it has become possible to listen to the entire version with impeccable sound quality. It’s a powerful sound. Naturally, the set list included new songs from the album, and the first two songs were included. It’s a good performance that brings out the country touch just like the album, and the next song, Alberta, was also played on an acoustic guitar. It might be fun to listen to and compare it with the take of the same song that was played for the first time in a while on the second day of this year’s Royal Albert Hall performance. However, the selling point of this day was the electric set! The reason is that Clapton’s playing is so sharp. With the exception of Yvonne Elliman and Marcy Levy’s featuring numbers, Clapton’s play on the numbers after Tell The Truth is already crazy. All the songs are amazing. Relatively new fans after “Unplugged” may be wondering, but the joint coda to Layla is a standard number by the Everly Brothers, a duo active from the 50’s to the 60’s. Why did you choose a medley of cover songs instead of playing that piano coda? This is nothing more than imagination, but they thought that if they played that piano coda, the song would become redundant and the excitement of the audience would be lost.Originally, Clapton composed the chorus part in the first half. , provides a piano coder that focuses on the self-made parts. I think the reason was that he didn’t have very good feelings towards Jim Gordon (former member of Derek and the Dominos), so he avoided this part that reminded him of him (The Dominos were (It disintegrated in the air during a fight between him and Clapton.) Aside from that, the only time you can hear a medley like this is in the 70’s Tulsa Tops era (the chorus alone is 7 minutes long). The play quality of this day is higher than the officially released Hammersmith Odeon performance in London on April 27, 1977. This is probably the best performance on this tour in 1977. This is a sound source that will not hurt if you listen to it. Forest National, Brussels, Belgium 13th June 1977 Disc 1(46:58) 1. Hello Old Friend 2. Sign Language 3. Alberta 4.
